I could not figure out why my patriot wouldn't start. I tried the battery, starter, ignition, but that red light was the giveaway. I had never seen that displayed before so I went on KZbin not expecting anything. I found your video and thought it can't hurt to try something else. My fuse instructions on a 2009 were not as clear as yours so I started yanking fuses out that were close to what you described. I waited 30 seconds and what do you know it started right up. Thanks buddy! I have the same vehicle, same year, been having this problem for months. Dealership kept it for a week and of course the problem didn't replicate, so they couldn't figure out what it was and didn't want to start blindly replacing parts. I've searched high and low online, but when I noticed that little red light come on last time this issue occurred I figured it had something to do with it. Turns out it's a faulty SKIM. Not sure how much that would cost to replace, but I've been looking up ways to bypass it and landed on your video (not a permanent fix, but a very good bandaid for sure!!) Much appreciated buddy, thank you and I hope your Patriot gives you less trouble than mine lol.

This fixed my FOB that wasn't working. I had the same warning sound going on although I had no problem starting the vehicle. Nice tip!!!!!

My garage thought it was a battery issue, battery replaced then the fault returned a parasitic draw was next as there was a excess draw showing up. Had another garage look at it as the Jeep seemed to have the flat battery again. They couldn't find the fault, I almost give up then by luck found your video and it worked perfectly, my Jeep Compass started first time with no issues. So I didn't need a new battery and trips to two garages lol. Thank you so much 👍

Darian you ever try just replacing those fuses so as to avoid the problem? How has it held up? I have a 2008 and I assumed it was the ECM not sending a start command. Got a new PCM for my Patriot, but this past week had the same no start no crank. Then mysteriously, it started and has been starting ever since. I suspect I may be having the same problem as you. Thanks for posting this you've obviously helped a ton of people - karma is a real thing and hopefully good things are headed your way.

I thank you too for your video. I have this problem during the last year, but before i look for help with youtube, replaced the battery some months ago, it worked out, but tonight the same again. Cleaned the component contact area and thats it, my patriot is starting on normally

Here’s my question, fuses blow for a reason. What was the reason? If they aren’t blown and you have to take them out and put them back in then there is a corrosion issue or a short

Wow!!!! How did you figure that out? Thank you!!! I dont know if it is the same case with my jeep. I see the red dot steady on today 7/22/2024 w/ my jeep liberty 2006. I dont know if it is normal or not. I consult the manual & look up on youtube. I was able to drive my jeep, im just worried if tharlt is ok that it is on or not. I dont remember if i see it before or not. I didnt drive my jeep for over a month and i jump start it, when i drive i am curious about that red dot that is steady on. I will figure it out, and see if mine is related to your case. Thank you!!!

You have got me out of the s*** hole location that I'm at and I appreciate that cuz I thought I was stuck for a long time... Followed this similar concept for me 2014 compass. I even went further to test and replaced any faulty fuses. I had cleaned my battery terminals and removed all corrosion. Battery is only 1 year 4 months old. Made sure wires were in tack, checked to ensure terminals were not over tightened and not able to move. I may have to spend the $110-$180 to just buy a new starter motor and replace it. It turns over after holding tight and listening to the sequence of clicks for about 5 to 10 seconds. Thankfully, the only light I get is that red light over the thermostat. Had it plugged in at a local autozone and no codes came up. Awesome quick fix video that I hoped to work even if temporarily.

Hello - I have tried it but my issue may be a little different- My touch screen on my radio will not work. It turns on but can’t take a touch command. I read to take the negative off the battery and when I did this the car went into anti-theft mode- the radio reset is prompting me to enter a code which I cannot because the touch screen doesn’t work. I tried using your method to get it out of anti-theft but it did not work- I am being told I need to replace the radio-but this radio is no longer available for purchase- needs to be a refurbished one but there are none available.

I’ve had the red dot problem in my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I was told it is my phone interfering with the key FOB since it’s a push button start.

I was called to another garage to fix a 2005 300c chrysler. The problems they noticed with the car was Hard or no start, red lightning bolt steadily on, no throttle response, immediate stalling after starting and rough idle throughout idling as a result an old PCM was replaced with a new one however problem still persisted. I scanned for DTC codes and saw a P0340, P2167, P2166, P2115, P2116, p0603 and more module codes like C2202, U0168, U1414, B1A25, etc. Please help me! How can I fix those problems? The major problem is that whenever the red round light probably, the security light, if it remains ON, the car won't start at all however even if it does start by chance, the car would definitely stall immediately. On the otherhand , if the red perhaps security light blinks and battery light goes off, it will have only hard starting but would definitely start. Firstly, how can I fix the security issue? The client said: "he doesn't want anything security in the car anymore." How should I proceed to disable that security completely? It's because of that that made the engineer encourage them to get a new ECU. Please🙏, help me with the repair procedure and also wiring diagram showing power distribution layout identification for the engine bay and rear fuses.

@@robertogiles307 we had to take into the Jeep dealership. We had to buy a new key and have it reprogrammed. The Anti theft system sensor had to be replaced. It was a good chunk! 😩 There was no way around it. We tried everything lol.
