Right now xTool has a Black Friday sale in the works should you be interested in a machine. This video basically walks you through making a batch of 225 Christmas ornaments I made for gifts. It is a pretty simple process with a laser and basswood plywood. Some simple ways to paint and assemble them. Could be made with most lasers but for safety this S1 can't be beat
Here are some xTool affiliate links and discount code to the products used in this video

My wife has Sjogrens syndrome and chemical sensitivity syndrome so her respiratory system has no moisture protection from any type of outgassing. Even the scent of someone that washed their clothing in the wrong detergent can make it so she cannot breath. There is no treatment so all our soaps are free and clear scent free. That's why I have to be very careful with fumes. Thanks for watching.

@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 oh wow, I’ve never heard of that. That might actually be what my wife has. She can get physically I’ll with strong smells and get a massive headache. We’ll have to check that out, thank you for that.

Lasermatic MK2 is cheaper and has all these features you ask for. You should check it out. Plus it’s way cheaper than the xtool. No mirrors to clean, no water… very easy. Just as powerful as the CO2 lasers. You’ll have to use lightburn again but it’s still pretty easy since it directly connects to the machine.

This is a diode laser with multi stage air assist and curved surface engraving.No mirrors or cooling and 40 watts. Easy alignment setup. The best diode laser ever. About the same price as yours but a better machine With full wifi and app control. They hit it out off the park with this one. Thanks for watching.

Hi 👋, I hope you are both keeping safe and well, I have just been looking 👀 at Trotec , very nice piece of equipment, then I realised how much they cost, why way outside of my price range, but they do have some interesting articles on their KZbin territorial, using UV resin, which I thought he might find interesting, I think for me, it is only a dream, I think, as I said, before, my biggest problem is understanding computers, all the best for now keep up the great work. Look forward to seeing you next project., Phil from the moulin France.

You definitely will spend many hours and make many mistakes getting to know a new laser. Definitely open up a whole new type of projects that are very easy to reproduce in multiples that can provide some income to help offset the price. For the price of many of them you could set up a whole new woodworking shop though.

Hi 👋, I suppose it’s like everything nowadays you pay for what you get, about eight years ago, I had to do an insurance valuation of my tools and machinery in my workshop, it was very surprising how much money that I’d spent over the course or about 15 years, approaching around £70,000, somebody just starting out in business in a joinery company, would need a serious amount of money behind them, or at least work coming in to cover the cost of the machinery, and of course the workshop, especially if you had to pay rent and rates on the place, my workshop was costing me around £1000 a month, this would’ve been better spending on mortgage on property home and work shop, on top of the thousand pound, I was paying the mortgage as well or most of it, my work shop was what she was trying to get hold of as well, luckily she did not, I have some good news, that the deeds for my property, where I am now living in France the moulin/mill will soon be in my name. And so hopefully I can move on a bit , would still like to try and earn some extra pennies, but first I’ve got to finish Repair in and put a new roof on my garage which is going to be part of my workshop, which will give me around about 6 m x 6 m work area, my basement is cramped packed with tools and machinery, I have been thinking of starting up a small business, making small one off items that I can sell, I need to register as a small business artisan , and of course my biggest problem, I cannot speak French, I could do with finding a young lady that could help me to learn how to speak French, and that will be willing to help me trying to set up a business to help me sell things, at my age, I think I’ll be having more chance of going to the moon or thereabouts, 😂 . Stay safe, great having a chat, Phil from the moulin France.

Ed, Those ornaments came out great. Is that bottom far enough below the honeycomb bottom that you could put in something like a aluminum or stainless sheet tray (cookie tray)? If it would fit, it would give you a lift out catch tray. They have lots of cheap trays on Amazon in all sorts of sizes. Also do you really need a complete bead of superglue on those ornaments? I would think a dot at the tip of the stars or a few dots on the other shapes and it will hold. Not like there is any side pressure on these once they are made.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 9 ай бұрын
A thin sheet would help but at the price of this unit there should have been some thought put into that. I think they figure it will make many buy the riser base with the tray. I'm trying to get the base to see if it reduces the ability to properly extract fumes as I have seen some leaking out in others videos. Sealed up like this has perfect flow. I tried the couple beads and the plywood absorbs enough moisture between the layers to warp them apart on some making the seams visible. There's probably a better way but I haven't found it yet. Thanks for watching.

Sofontsy.com. I don’t do links to them because things seem to change over time but the picture of the page is shown in the video. Do a search for that name. I buy all my files from them. I added the outline layer by just offsetting the outline and subtracting from the copy. Thanks for watching.
