Quick guide to sample VST instruments with SampleRobot 6.1

This is a short introduction to VST sampling with version 6.1 of SampleRobot. For the first time SampleRobot offers a VST host to sample virtual instruments automatically. Please respect the copyright when sampling.

@@MrJazz251 I have the free version that came with the Montage 8. I only sampled the one patch. You can always sample other sounds and add the samples to the same patch in the Montage.

I have layered several vst instruments to make an instrument. Could samplerobot sample this? Or does it only sample one vst instrument at once?

Samplerobot entwickelt sich sehr gut. Was mich noch stört, ist die für mich zu komplizierte Loopfunktion in SR. Der Extreme Sample Converter z. B. hat eine super einfache Autoloop-Funktion. Nach dem Sampeln wählt man die Klänge aus, die geloopt werden sollen, klickt auf den Autoloop-Button und ESC findet in den meisten Fällen automatisch den perfekten Loop, ohne vorher etwas eingestellt zu haben. Findet ESC mal nichts, kann man einen bestimmten Bereich im Waveform-Fenster mit der Maus markieren und ESC sucht dann mit einem Klick in diesem Bereich einen geeigneten Loop-Punkt. Das wünsche ich mir auch in SR, ansonsten ein Top-Produkt.

wow thanks for the special guide, I have a Nexus plugin and the software does not recognize it I tried converting it to 32 instead of 64 and still doesn't work I would appreciate your help, thanks

the midi is connected but there no outuput sound and the peak meter doesnt change. whats my problem?

Question? When I test a Vst plugin, I hear it before I start sampling recording. But as soon as I press record, I can see the Vst volume is moving and after it stops I see that sample robot captured the sounds but why can’t I hear each note being played while it’s sampling? I can hear each note when my Integra 7 is behind samples though.

It might be that you have Midi program changes activated. Otherwise please contact support.

Does the Korg+Wave version also sample a VST or only the Multi-X and Pro version will sample a VST?

No, The VST2 host is only available in SampleRobot Pro.

@@samplerobot9639 can the latest version load 64bit plugins ? Also considder adding support for Yamaha .ppf format. I know their expansion manager can read .sf2 format, but the interface in it is a pain to use when editing the sound settings. and you may get an extra pro version user 😄

Sure, you can load the Vst2 version of it with the SampleRobot Pro VST Host. If you would like to sample Vst3s you can use a 3rd party wrapper with the host.

Question: Got some troubles with Yamaha Montage /MODX version. 1. No reaction from virtual midi keyboard when pressed with mouse. 2. External midi signals from keys are recognized ( as yellow keys) but still no sound from VST plugin. On VST itself its played and heard. Pressing Virtual /external Sample Robot. No reaction. Thanx!

There is no special export for those instruments yet but of course you can use Wav or Aiff export.

There is an offline bounce option with up to 80% speed advantage and the auto-loop features are highly customizable.

Hi, please contact support. Some settings can get quite complex. Mostly it's a falsely selected Midi output port or audio input port. Please make also sure that SampleRobot is allowed to access your audio and midi interfaces on your operating system.

If you downloaded the VST and want to sample some of its sounds to your hardware sampler which you also own then it’s 100% legal.

We recommend sampling own sound creations. It you own the plugin and just want to use samples of some presets it should be Ok. It's another thing if you would like to distribute the sample set. If you are not sure you should reach out to the company that makes the plugin.

No tutorial on instrumenr copier = less than 100 globally sales per year since every other software sampler cost so much less, AND have tutorials! It looks like I'll have to pass on this too! Seriously, what company is TOO LAZY to make a tutorial on the features that sell their products?! WTF... That's just insane!
