Note this: when you join a family, if you leave said family, you cant join another family for an entire year. So be sure you want to join a family with family or friends.

That is dumb. I can understand wanting to limit hopping between families, but I don't understand why it can't be the day you join a family that starts the timer. starting it when you leave a family means that, let's say 5 years down the line you finally want to drop and join a new family or restructure, you have to wait a year no matter what.

Find the solution today, the person who created the family group has to accept the invitations, for example if your friend created the family group, give them your account and have them accept the invitation from their device. Hope u can understand ahahha not an english speaker

Use VPN to switch to "family" country Add a cheap game to your cart. in your cart, switch currency to "family" country currency Buy it with a credit card of that country ("family" members can help with that) To join the family both stores must be in the same country

my friend wasn't able to join my steam family due to being in a different household and network, i have read online apparently i am meant to log in my device on his steam account then accept it in order for him to be in the family, anyway we tried that and it didn't work i'm guessing their is a cool down period before that not sure how long. even if he does get accepted to being in the family shared accounts wouldn't his ip address log him out eventually? and does anyone know how long i have to wait before i can accept him on my own device again?

Yes, they have a copy system he explains it in the video, if you both have that same game. For example, if you both have helldivers, it'll say 2 at the bottom right of the game, which means 2 people will be able to play

Probably either you or the other person has to log into the person's account who wants to join the family at their location and do the family share, so steam sees that you both are logged in with the same IP so that means you are in the same location/household

You can play any game available as long as there are 2 or more licences available, if there is only 1, you have to make sure no other person is playing that game at the same time

i think Adult they have free access to your entire library at all times, but child they have to ask permission for games and u have to accept, and as the creator of the group u can remove members or disband the family group anytime but like another guy said if u do that cant join another family group for 365 days

The owner of the limited account has to get rid of the restriction. They need to spend at least $5 within the Steam Store or add $5 to the Steam Wallet.

Not if you only have 1 copy of that game, if you and other members have two or more copies, a member without that copy should be able to play with you using the copy of someone else.
