It feels like most of these Hello Neighbor games are made so that most people wont be able to beat them without using a guide. They are way to complicated and confusing. Only Hello Neighbor 2 is not like that.

You have to turn off the television screen first because even though the book is sat on the table he will be distracted by the television screen so you have to turn it off by going behind the TV climb the ladder and jump on the chair to the top of the TV and turn the TV off with the red button.

I also forgot to mention if you play on nintendo switch you press the left trigger to place the book... Not by yourself and if you play on xbox you press the left trigger again and that goes for all the consoles but I don't know about computers because I don't know the controls and don't know the mechanics that well so I hope I helped you out.
