Many east-coast railfans are familiar with the Pittsburgh Line, it passes through some well known locations including the Horseshoe Curve (ref our last video!) and Cresson, to name just two.
But.. that's not the whole story. In this video we'll talk about the railroad that preceded the Pennsylvania's famous line, and the National Park that remembers it. We'll talk about the three tunnels at Gallitzin, and we'll talk quickly about Cresson as well.
Come along for the ride as we explore, quite quickly, the history of the Alleghany Portage Railroad, and of the famous tunnels of Gallitzin.
