I just realized how great of a teacher you are, the angle of the camera has quite a difference on seeing how to accomplish this pattern. Please do more! Thanks for the learning !!! Now I know how!

You don't know how much I have been struggling with this tie. I just couldn't get it by watching videos, because nobody took the time to explain it like you did. I heard a ding at about 1:45 and it finally clicked. Thank you so much man! Liked and subscribed!!

Hahaha yea that moment of “OMG! That makes so much sense! I don’t even need to see the rest of this video because it all makes total logical sense now.” Yea, it took me a few attempts at other videos to figure it out but I remember that exact moment for me. I turned off KZbin and tied one (still terrible) immediately. I’m glad I could help you out! I really don’t understand why no one else had actually explained it before now.

My guy, i've been looking for this type of tutorial!!! Thank you so much. I've been trying to figure it out, but i needed somebody to actually explain. Big props to you, man!

Fantastic! Explained precisely.

I’m glad it helped! This was a sloppy demonstration of the theory tho. I would use sinew instead of kite string for actual application and would normally take it a LOT slower to make sure each segments’ angles were more uniform.

You’re welcome! One thing to note. I used kite string bc it was the first spool I found. Normally you would want to use sinew.

You’re welcome! I hadn’t found any videos that explained the theory so I slapped this together when someone asked about it. I went fast, I used kite string instead of sinew (as I would normally use), and I wasn’t focused on making it look good…. but I’m glad the information helped!

Nope. Sorry but that wasn’t the intention of this video. This was only made because there hasn’t been a good tutorial out there that actually explains things. I didn’t actually make a shirt, but I’ll link one of my Facebook posts of a shirt that uses the honeycomb. The bottom “V” that wraps around is a honeycomb. facebook.com/1483070900/posts/pfbid0XumNxzP8uw8nqb7zbKUMDKn88f9n11ANJgxJDAeb8BSXePUJ71dfZT6ANhepw8wHl/?mibextid=cr9u03

what thread do you use?

For this demonstration I used kite string. However, if you want the colors separated by a white line then you should use sinew.

@@DarceyRecords what is sinew my bro?
@DarceyRecords Жыл бұрын
@@rahamana08 sinew is a short band of tough, flexible fibrous connective tissue which connects two bones or cartilages or holds together a joint. In tie dye, we use artificial sinew which is basically a wax covered string. It is good at cinching tight and gripping to itself to hold a tighter hold. Also, being wax coated, it prevents liquid (such as dye) from passing through it. Personally, I use a rounded sinew with a 100lb strength.

@@DarceyRecords one more question my brother, waterglass and soda ash, which one is better to use
@DarceyRecords Жыл бұрын
@@rahamana08 soda ash. Mix it at one cup soda ash per gallon to pre soak a shirt. Let me know if you have any more questions but you should check out my actual tie dye channel. The link is in both the description and the pinned comment. That would be a better place to ask questions as this is just my personal channel meant for my wasting of time, not tie dye talk. I have some videos showing hot to make tie dyes from start to finish.

Crabby much? Be thankful someone’s trying to help! He/she said at beginning he/she wasn’t trying to be neat or tidy. Whiners like you ruin it for the rest of us who are genuinely trying to better our craft. Do you also complain about consensual orgasms too?
