excuse me, What paste do you use for 24K gold polish? I tried some mirror polishing paste with wiping cloth, the result is mirror, however it got darker, not very bright.

Hi, I like this video a LOT! Thank you! 💜 I have 2 white gold (2mm, 4mm) bands and one rose gold band (2mm). They are all simple flat bands, no stones or crazy scratches. I was wondering which color polishing compounds should I get to get a super shiny result? Is the ultrasonic cleaner for removing the polishing compounds at the end? Or can I skip buying the ultrasonic bath thingie and just use a jewelry cloth at the end following up the wool+compound+Dremel steps? Looking forward to your reply! Fantastic video quality and info in there!! 💜💜

You can use hot water and dish soap to get a good clean after if you want to avoid buying the ultrasonic cleaner

You prefer using a bristle brush (with polishing compounds) vs. a 3m type brush containing the grit? For one thing, it's probably less expensive.

Do I need to wash the ring in between the green and red compounds? Will it cross contaminate the red buff if I don’t wash after the green?
@StullerInc3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gail! Yes, a quick steaming is recommended between polishing steps to avoid cross-contamination of buffs. If any coarser rouge remains on the buff when dropping down to a finer polish, you will run the risk of scratching the piece and essentially undoing the current polishing step.

Hello, can I use that Ultra-CR Ultrasonic Cleaning Solution without L&R Quantrex® Ultrasonic or any other Ultrasonic? I mean can I clean my jewellery just with this liquid? Thank you

First I want to say Thank you to the lady who made this very clear and informative video even after 30 years I can always learn something new (WIDE fingertape ..never seen that before : ) Hi ELINA AGAMEL I have been making Precious metal jewellery for over 30 years ..I do have an ultra sonic but hardly ever use it ..the cheaper option is to use a baby's toothbrush ..preferably a used one (you can sterilise it before use ..I just dipped mine in boiling water for a bit ) as they are very soft ...I use with Fairy liquid ..ie a really good thick degreasing dish soap ...and rinse... using a separate brush for each type of polish and rinsing each time ...I get a great clean with gentle brushing and rinsing.....if there is some dirt really hard to get out or inaccessible I use the following method It WORKS REALLY WELL ON PRECIOUS METAL AND HARD STONES ..Eg.Diamonds, Sapphires , Rubies Agates..etc BUT NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SOFT /PORUS STONES ie Opal, Jade , Amber etc (I would NOT use for Emeralds either as They are Just looking for any excuse to crack !)...Take no notice where it says not to use on metal this refers to the Ferrous metals it is perfectly safe to use on Silver , Gold , Copper or Brass To remove old soap polish etc a denture sterilising tablet eg. sterident (also cheap to buy) pour hot water into a jar or bowl leaving at least an inch space before the lip of jar or bowl as the solution froths ..pop the dirty jewellery in and leave it till the bubbles stop ...then use the toothbrush to clean the now loosed Dirt..and rinse well. An ultrasonic saves you time and can be used often without leaving the bench ...so great if you do a lot of fast , high value batch production or do not have easy access to a sink ...(as. An Artizan designer Jeweller most of my work is one off pieces where I can take the time )when I do use my Ultrasonic the proprietary cleaners are very effective and well worth the cost but the cleaning is just the same Hope this Helps. How effective is this compared to Manau polish? In effectiveness and cost.
@StullerInc3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ahiung! We don't carry the Manau polish to compare, however we do use the green rouge featured in the video in our in-house polishing processes. Hope this helps!

I thought green rouge was for stainless steel? Could just go straight to red and save the time
@StullerInc3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Green rouge is intended for use on stainless steel, white gold, silver, platinum and rhodium. It is a recommended intermittent step prior to red rouge, as smaller steps down in coarseness will take the metal down more evenly.
