McDonald was knocked out of the game on a late hit and a penalty flag was thrown but THERE WAS NO PENALTY ASSESSED AND NO EXPLANATION FROM THE REFEREE OR BROADCASTERS

@@rockscousteau Yup, Its easy to win when the opposing team targets and takes out the starting QB early in the game. I turned it off shortly after that play. I dont enjoy watching the trash prison football style NM state brings to the field.

People say these type of bowls are meaningless but how often NMSU even makes a bowl game let alone wins one. Honestly I think those people are just spoiled because their teams make a bowl year in and year out and need to appreciate that because any team can enter a long bowl drought (look at Nebraska).

As someone from NM and went to college in Nebraska I can't agree more college football has been pain the last few years rooting for nmsu and Nebraska but this was definitely a bright spot

That was a really fun game. I've been watching these bowl game highlights, even for teams I don't know or normally watch, and like this one, many were fun to watch. Bowling Green missed some key opportunities such as getting the turnover with good field position, field goals misses, and coughing the ball up near the goal line. Could've easily been their day.

BG was really good on special teams and NMSU was horrendous but because of the Max Duggan type plays by New Mexico and the failures on offense for BG I don't think the outcome of the game was ever really in doubt.

Was at the game today. 23,000 showed up and I’d think 75% of the stadium was BG fans. Im a BG alum and cant deny how well Pavia played, he deserved to win. Game was changed early on the 4th play of the game, NM State had a very rough cheap shot that took out the BG QB Matt McDonald in his last college game. Close comeback and hopefully BG continues to build in the right direction. Ay Ziggy!

I wish it didn’t happen because I feel that the game would have been even better with McDonald and NMSU still would have won. BGSU fans can argue they would have won if not for that play, I don’t believe so.
