The Bronco flies regularly at the airshow we hold at my club's airfield. A truly bizarre and unique beast.

OV-10 is one of my absolute all time favorite prop driven planes. When I served in the Marines as a crash crewman, The Marines still had the D in active service. My first one was a Testors kit, mid 80s I think, and BASIC would be the good way to say it.... As for ungainly looking ugly beauties... The OV-1 Mowhawk for me is the top of the mark! LOL (cool side note, I actually got to see VMO-1 and their broncos come home from ODS/S in 1991 at MCAS New River. I was part of the crash crew hot spot )

Thanks for a great review, Jen! I've got the 1/48th one in the stash. Glad to see ICM come out with this aircraft in 1/48, as there was only the old Testors one available in the past. I'll be keeping my eye out for the 1/72nd one.

I’m currently building the Academy kit and that ICM kit looks very good in comparison. I usually build pre 1945 aircraft so this for me is a modern build. The price is to be expected and I compare it with cost of a coffee or a pint of beer which is momentarily pleasurable but quickly consumed and forgotten. Excellent review, thank you.

Love the bronco , I must admit I tried to build a 1:72 back in the day , ( Academy .)and chucked it in the bin ! So tiny , the only kit that has ever defeated me ! yours looks beautiful . you can get 1:48 for around £35 , it would have to be that next time !!.

Revell did their own 1/72 Bronco...1970. I built the Airfix one soon after it came out in 1969. I prefer the A, especially in Green over White. Although the US Navy black one in ICM 1/48 looks good too!

Hi Jen. Fantastic review of a lovely kit. I need to go back and see your Vietnam 1/48 airfield set review now to make up my mind! I'm seriously thinking 1/48 as I'm starting to struggle with fiddly 1/72. Having said that, this kit has small parts yet doesn't seem fiddly! If that makes any sense?! The detail looks really nice, not overly so but just enough. I'm loving ICM and am sooo looking forward to the 48th scale Henschal 129 next year, probably one of my favourite aircraft ever. Hope the Vulcan is coming along and you're doing ok 👍 Take care Bobby PS. I remember that old Airfix Bronco! My mate built it. That style with the kit on the plans! Brings back some good memories! 😊

Wasn't aware that ICM had released the 1/72 version Brings me some hope that they will do the same for the Cessna O-2 A fiver for twice the size sounds better VFM until I try and find space for it. Who am I kidding. More realistically a bigger box to gather dust. lol Always wanted a Bronco, though but it's the Cessna I'd really like. Excellent review, thanks, Jen.

I'm part way through building one, having previously built the 1/48 scale A. It's gone together well so far, apart from the canopy, but I suspect that is fat fingers rather than the kit. Getting the nose weight in is a challenge 😂. I failed. Maybe doing something with the sensor radome might work 🤔. Thanks for the review

Sensor housing and try the engine nacelles too if they aren't already sealed..

The Airfix Bronco is from 1977-78.There is a very interesting aircraft of Bronco class. The argentinian Pucara.I think that there are some models of it but i can't remember company and scale.

i think all aircraft kits should come with bearings. i know i probably spelt that wrong, but i dont care lol.
