You can please most of the people most of the time, just not the impatient ones. Surely these impatient ones have a fast forward slider on their KZbin screen to skip a little if it's too long winded for them to sit thru. Dude just keep doing the work you are doing with them videos cause it's great. Thank you for your time and info. Priceless.

hey guy you're doing people a great favor with these videos. Don't worry about a few complaints. It's impossible to make a video that will be exactly what everyone at every skill level wants. Your videos and others like it have saved me a bunch of money and I appreciate it.

This has to be one of the best auto related "how to" videos I've ever seen! I've never seen a video on your channel before, but I have watched thousands of how to videos for different cars over the years... Jesus that was fast and to the point! I'm also going to subscribe, because no matter if you tell stories or whatever in your other videos, you seem like a cool dude. Thanks again

There's definitely a time and place for slower methodical videos and also for quick tutorials. I actually got everything I needed from this video, but other repairs I need my hand held a little more. Great videos and thanks for all the help!

I prefer your long detailed videos as well. They are very helpful, especially the Quadrajet series, those are just brilliant. The off-topic chat is enjoyable too, I like your personality.

Oh don't worry, I'm going back to my usual video style. The nerve of people though to complain when they get a video tutorial free. Usually though they are idiots in every other aspect of their lives as well. Thanks for the kind words.

I grabbed a couple used strut from the junkyard. Otherwise the spring must be removed, which I didn't want to tackle. Just make sure you get ones that are dry and not leaking oil if you decide to go the junkyard route.

There are always jerks on here that don't appreciate anything or a good story. I personally love them. They so dumb, that they can't see if you don't want to here it, fast forward......LOL. Anyway, thanks, you have helped me and I did get it the first time. If not, guess what what......just watch it again dummies ! Take care. I support you !

Good video for fast and to the point, yet putting the jack under the rear trailing arm bracket will possibly damage it, the affects of this wont be noticed until you drive and your alignment is redone. The alignment should be don't since most of the suspension on the right hand sign has been taken apart. Pressure on areas where it is not designed to take it, will cause bending and due to the creation method of that part, it will loose integrity. Besides a rubber bushing in that area is not designed to support the vehicle at all. There are pinch frame specific lift points on this car.

Thank you, i am about to do the struts on my protege. what struts and springs did u use and are they good?
@Ragnarx3166 жыл бұрын
How did you manage to get the tire to lift off the ground. My strut rusted out n broke. And i cant my tire to lift off the ground when i jack up the car.
@TylersNeighborhoodGarage6 жыл бұрын
The way the rear suspension is designed prevents the wheel from hyper-extending even when the strut is removed. Either you need a larger jack, or you have something else going on with the suspension.
@clubcar9811 жыл бұрын
I understand the point of this video but I too prefer the detailed videos. The off topic rambling is important too! While your doing struts you should come do the ones on that Bonneville we have. The struts are so bad when you let it off the jack the car looks like its been lifted until you push it down. But rather than replacing them they keep driving it and spending a fortune on used tires.../endrant.

@skotwrok10 жыл бұрын
you cant. ive been looking for a while. got some good ones at the scrap yard but you need to order the strut, spring and mounting bracket all separately and use a spring compression tool to put it all together.
@TylersNeighborhoodGarage10 жыл бұрын
Sorry I missed your question. I removed these from a junkyard car. As long as they are dry with no oil leakage, usually they are still good.

Did you compress the spring/coil before you put it back on with the new strut? Thanks.
@TylersNeighborhoodGarage7 жыл бұрын
No. I replaced the entire assembly, no removing or compressing of springs necessary that way.
@LU.SMACCR7 жыл бұрын
Jesus Carrillo you have to if youre using the same old spring. You clamp it down with 2 clamps and screw the nut back on top with the new strut on.
@drwho52527 жыл бұрын
I don't think your vids are too long. If there are people that disagree, they can look for another vid. Whatever. The only thing I would add is before you undo the top three nuts, you might want to break that center nut loose while its still in the car. Just don't take it all the way off!
@TylersNeighborhoodGarage7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. That's ONLY if you are replacing the strut cartridge. I replaced the entire assembly this time.
@drwho52527 жыл бұрын
Ok, yeah of course, you're right. I thought about replacing the entire assembly but I'm just too much of a cheapskate. Again, thanks for putting that vid out there.
