Quick n' Dirty: Reloading tags in VDJ8.5/2021

Based on a post in the VDJ forum, here is a video showing how you can reload file tags that may have been edited outside of Virtual DJ

@Klaus Mogensen Thanks! I've been following you here on KZbin and I had remembered watching this video you made months ago. I hadn't used my VDJ in a while but, I just got on it tonight and I was looking at my PO Collection and realized my Album info for a lot of my albums was not showing in VDJ. I am pretty organized when it comes to titling and all. I dragged the album folder(s) into my TagScanner and it was showing the album tag info there. I had remembered this video you made and came back and watched it. You have saved me a lot of time! I really appreciate you making this video to help us! Thanks! Cheers!

@Klaus Mogensen I came to realize that is not perfect. I was adding years to some of my video tracks and when I hit, reload tags it loaded whatever id3 tag I had there. I lost some work but, it could have been worse. I will only use that reload tags if I have no track info showing info showing in Virtual DJ but, I see the id3 tag and it correct.

@Klaus Mogensen, now I see what you did now. We have to click the "write tag" in order to change the id3. Otherwise the id3 tag remains what it was. See your video tutorial works! 😊

is there a way to batch save my virtual dj tags and save them and over write the originals?

The easiest is probably to use the setTagsAuto feature: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmi9fGaof76Vi6c

Hi ya is there any way to load tracks from the main browser into the automix panel by drop-down box rather than drag and drop it like the drop-down box option in sideview If not can I suggest this option thank you?

I think the best way to do that is to map a custom button or keyboard key to: automix_add_next

How did you add the waveform ?

That is a new feature in the latest Early Access release. I plan to do a video on it when it becomes a part of a public release

Early Access Then in the browser, double click title album bar, click Waveform which is at the bottom of the list. I asked for this feature coming from RB. Sooo glad we got it now! Just hoping they add cue point markers soon. Great way of telling if you have added cue pints to a track already. With a big library it’s a great help!
