Home defense generally means defending people in your home from someone who has breached your home…the building…not hunting trespassers who wandered onto the grounds with your night vision & IR aiming device…do that & kill somebody & a jury is gonna help you go away for years (unless you’re in Texas lol)

If you already own night vision or you already intend to own night vision, it makes sense to couple it with an existing defense strategy. Most people do not have properties like this, and even if they do a sane person would not recommend wandering your property at night if it isn't necessary. There are also much better lights than what you can just stick on a gun - candela is important here. If night vision is the answer to the question of home defense, I think you're asking the wrong question. I think it appeals too much to the tactical operator fantasy without answering the question with more reasonable answers first.

if you have NVG why the fuck would you NOT patrol your property at night?
@CalzaTheFox Жыл бұрын
@@ajopasoij9d00 Well, if you have it, gotta justify the sticker price somehow. But unless your property is frequently invaded, why is it even a concern?

whats the point of using white light to illuminate something at night when you have night vision? you can have a white light as bright as the sun, but now the enemy can see you too. you lose the entire tactical advantage of being unseen, while you can see perfectly fine

@@guhmbee "The enemy" Like I said, tactical operator fantasy. If your enemy has night vision, they can see you fine. If your light is bright enough, they can't see shit. You're thinking about this too hard friend, it's not complicated. Plus, night vision is a luxury (for now) that not everyone can justify buying.

Home defense isn't the sole justification to buy night vision, it's just one of the many treats you can get with it. My office window overlooks my property, so at any point I can look out and see the entire thing. I still bought my night vision before I bought a house, and have it for other reasons.
