I’ll be interested to see what that whole area looks like ones construction is finished and they’ve landscaped it all. I don’t think there’s any turning back now but I have to wonder, years down the road, if anything will be added to connect the resort again. It never hurts to express interests and concerns though!

I didn't even realize that SOG had an underground parking area, I thought it was all outside like the other Disney resorts

They sure do 😄 It’s a multi level parking garage that’s attached to the Palm wing of the resort. It’s great because we can protect our vehicles from the blazing sun AND when it’s raining we don’t have to worry 😎🙌🏼

Great videos! So terrible Disney took away the walkway from shades to Polynesian. I understand if it was closed for construction but the fact that they are not putting it back because Josh D’Amaro of Disney doesn’t want veterans and thier family using poly for transportation and he feels by closing the walkway will influence shades of green guests to stay at a Disney resort. His excuse is now all of a sudden it’s no longer safe.There are multiple crosswalks on Disney property and they could easily leave it or reroute it. Very betrayed and insulted in Disneys actions.

Thank you so much! Yea we are sad about the walkway too. While I don't know all of the politics behind the decision it wouldn't make sense to me that Disney would care that much to make an attempt to keep Shades guests away. For our family we still use the Polynesian...we just walk there from the TTC instead of from SOG. We still use their transportation just like hundreds and thousands from other resorts do every day when they stop in or visit the restaurants inside. Comparatively speaking, SOG is small compared to the Disney resorts on that monorail loop so in my eyes it doesn't seem like it would make much impact by deterring us from using it. Who knows...but hopefully someday they can reevaluate that area and come up with a solution that makes everyone happy. Maybe with enough feedback they'll expedite that progress. Fingers crossed!

Yeah I’ve walked that walkway plenty of times and felt perfectly safe. You cross the street like normal. If anything, but a crossing should goal if they’re worried about safety. Ridiculous.

You can absolutely request certain rooms, a particular wing, or your desired area when you book OR when you check in. If they can accommodate you they definitely will. I’ll link a video you might want to check out to see which wing you might prefer. As far as the path to the poly goes…I have not heard any plans to open that back up to SOG guests. I use a walker. How far would you say that you have to walk to get from where they drop you off the Shades of Green bus at the ticket and transportation center to the monorail at the ticket and transportation center?

From the SOG bus stop C10 to the monorail loading deck I would guess maybe a quarter of a mile? Its fairly short...so you would just get off the bus, cross the cross walk to the sidewalk that leads you to the security check point. Once you make your way through the metal detectors and such its maybe 50 yards to the monorail lines that will be right in front of you at that point. I wish I could tell you more accurately but thats my very best guess-timate :)

Funny thing is that we almost started showing everything inside and then we stopped and decided to save that for a separate video. So…we have plans to! Just haven’t done it yet 😁

So if we buy tix on base, we have to go to that counter to get them activated before we can actually use them? I don’t remember having to do that when we went to Disneyland. 🧐

Disneyland may be different…but I know that for Disney World you’ll have to activate your tickets when purchased from a base. However, if you get them directly from Shades of Green they’ll already be activated ☺️ The cards you get from base will have your ticket confirmation on there so that you can link your physical ticket to your My Disney Experience app (and further book your park reservations etc) BUT to enter the parks those will need to be activated.

I love your videos! You're one of my favorite vloggers! They're so informative. But could I ask a teensy favor? I don't mean to be critical but, could you possibly use a gimbal for your videos? I get queasy after about five minutes and have to stop watching for a bit and then come back to it. Again, I LOVE your videos, and I hope I'm not being offensive. I'd just like to watch them all the way through without stopping.

You're too kind! Not offended the slightest! In fact, thank you for leaving this comment! I love constructive criticism because it only helps us do better. To answer your question though I will definitely look into a gimbal because I have already been trying to increase the stabilization on our camera and can only increase it so much. I'll be the first to admit we are still learning a LOT about filming and youtube in general but my hope and goal is to upgrade our camera soon to improve that. Sometimes it takes a little trial and error...and money lol But I appreciate this so much so thank you again!
