Your description of DNA Circles is great! I now have a much better understanding of how to use them. Many thanks for your clear and excellent videos.

Hi Connie. Great video, as usual. I like to use a split-screen when comparing 2 different trees rather than clicking back and forth. It can be a little difficult when trees are large but give it a try.

That was a very informative video, thank you. I will be doing my DNA with ancestry again in the new year (I only had haplogroup & migration information from 2012's Ancestry DNA test) and already know a few cousins who have done it through Ancestry DNA.

What is the takeaway that I get from this video? That I Really want to watch the other 23 videos in this playlist, want to pay extra attention, taking notes and stop in the interim sometimes, to go study my own tree and it's matches. I have taken the Ancestry DNA test a year ago and relatively speaking haven't done anything with it. Now, I have the 23 And Me test results pending. I want to make the best use of both of them.

Hi Darlene. What this video next. It will help you a lot on Ancestry. It's called AncestryDNA Cousin Matches kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ6ciIWhrsZ4Z5Y Depending on what you're trying to accomplish will determine how best to use DNA. Watch this one video, I bet it starts to make sense. You can use the same technique on any service. I hope that helps.

Check out your ‘shared ancestor hints’ , you have 2 branches of your tree that match up. That’s why you are DNA third cousins, you are probably sixth cousins in two different places.

I wholeheartedly agree with not taking other peoples' trees as gospel, no matter how many have the same information. I see the same error across all trees for one of my close relatives. His death date is wrong...
@kaybobbitt77875 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem. Multiple other trees with a death date that is actually the person's son. Too many people to contact individually but no way to do a group email. I usually put a comment on their tree but I don't think many people are aware of the comment feature.
@GenealogyTV5 жыл бұрын
I agree that many don’t realize about the common feature.

Hi! Thanks for detailed video! I'm curious as to the 6th cousin 1x removed, in the tree, that you were seeing as a DNA 3rd cousin...what is your take on that? I'm thinking that the DNA is more correct than the tree.
@GenealogyTV6 жыл бұрын
+decko cards yes the DNA is correct. DNA doesn’t lie. I’ve since gone back and looked at that and I believe my guess that the Davis in my cousins line is also the missing father of Henry HENLEY. Now I need to try and prove my theory and also disprove my theory. One will provide the answer.

One tree. I do have other trees for other people (clients) I work with. Sometimes if I’m working a specific problem I’ll have a separate private tree while I experiment with a hypothesis.

HI! I don't have the regional feature. When I click DNA it shows the overall geography but not the migration part. How did you get to that???
@GenealogyTV5 жыл бұрын
Click on Ethnicity Estimates, click on a region. When you do there should be a timeline show up on the right side. Click on one of the years in the timeline. See if that works to answer your question.
@mydreamquest5 жыл бұрын
@@GenealogyTV Thanks for the help but it doesn't seem to work :( . When I click on Ethnicity Estimates, for example, it shows my ethnic breakdown (e.g. Germanic Europe ); if I highlight that area on the map, and click that region, on the right, it just describes the region with the option of clicking "view history of region" option. No timeline :(.... Conversely, if I click the region on the list, same thing shows up. No timeline :(
@GenealogyTV5 жыл бұрын
@@mydreamquest The timeline I see is between the regional information... but is actually on right side of the map, not in the description. and the migration only shows when you click on a year in the timeline. I do know that some newer users have a slightly different view/experience... or in other parts of the world have a different dashboard for parts of the Ancestry website. Sorry... I wish I could help more.
