Yup I use this spell in my kingmaker game for my warpriest of Shelyn. Getting a flaming glaive right after being ambushed at camp is awesome.

I've seen the spell name in passing, but I'm glad I've been enlightened to its potential on, say, a Flurry Ranger summoning a flaming Gakgung to add two more elemental damage types with Heaven's Thunder. Heck, this could make for an interesting pick if you have the Mind Smith Archetype and you want to make a build around summoned weapons.

I actually just noticed this spell last week. I have an ice-themed witch, so I was planning to let him have it but swap the damage type to cold to stay on theme.

* Blazing Armory has built in 30 foot range, Runic Weapon (in Remaster. Was called Magic Weapon in legacy) is touch, so will likely need to use MetaMagic Reach Spell for another action. * At higher levels B.A. can target up to 5 people while R.W can target only one weapon. * RW can be cast whenever, but BA only works if the target have an empty hand (so you need to win initiative or convince them to sheath their weapon) * BA lasts up to 5 minutes, better than RW's 1 minute. * RW is gained at level 1, but BA at level 2. But when hightened BA is equal to RW (sort of. it gains flaming / greater flaming. RW could be cast on a weapon that's already +1 or a +2 and with other runes.) ... All in all BA is superior to RW. RW is only superior until you gain level 2 spell slots or level 3 spell slots.

The spell is also useful to keep in mind as a GM, you have to do a little bit of thinking as to what the exact damage dice should be as creatures don't follow quite the same maths for damage as PCs do, but it can let you keep lower level creatures as a threat well beyond when their innate stats would have rendered them irrelevant, and it stacks with any other buffs that creatures would hand out. Rather than town guard + as your PCs get to higher levels, you put in a single higher level caster to buff them up.

This spell came in clutch for my party when they had to fight a drake. The primal sorcerer gave the flurry ranger a blazing armory shortsword and it carried the fight, nothing like a natural 20 strking weapon when the party are only 4th level.

Quick correction: the 10th rank version is GREATER flaming.

You can also do conductive weapon on top of it as weapon enchants stack for spellcasters.

Your NPC omnibus was nice enough, BTW, but I would have preferred fewer hostile NPCs- That is, more diplomats, merchants, and so on. And fewer types of enemies.
@PsiPrimeProductions13 ай бұрын
Thought about that. For the most part, pf2 is not concerned with the stat blocks of people you won’t be fighting. Sometimes they’ll say something like “this blacksmith has a +7 to crafting,” but not list a whole statblock. Still, thanks for the feedback. I’ll take it under consideration.

@@PsiPrimeProductions1 I totally get you, for me, it comes up in scenes like- Trials, where you might try to deceive or intimidate someone, say to throw them off their game. In contests of word or song, where out-performing an NPC might be relevant. In brief and less-violent brawls, where saves and athletics DCs are important, etc. But yeah I just figured I'd complain here since comments are good ;)
@MikeLemmons3 ай бұрын
Admittedly my game is significantly more roleplay heavy and less-violent than the standard PF2e table.
@PsiPrimeProductions13 ай бұрын
@@MikeLemmons It's not so much a complaint as a thought. And, to be fair, my Omnibus does have a section on switching up the theme of the NPCs. Take one of my NPCs, switch some of the skills around, could do in a pinch. But I do understand wanting some more civilian-themed NPCs.

This spell is far too niche to ever be useful. As the players need a free hand.
@PsiPrimeProductions13 ай бұрын
I told my party members to drop their weapons and they knew what that meant in our party. Free action to drop, retrieve them after the battle. Or, if you are ambushed, most players aren’t wielding their weapons. My gnome cleric found use for it at least. But you don’t have to use it if it’s not to your taste. To each their own.
@theangler19223 ай бұрын
@@PsiPrimeProductions1 Free action drop on THEIR turn, so you would need to delay your turn to be after theirs and the monster could go inbetween them and they wouldnt have a weapon for attack of opportunity.
@PsiPrimeProductions13 ай бұрын
@@theangler1922 Fair enough, though few players get reactive strike/AoO. My GMs are pretty lenient, so they are usually cool if I shout "Drop weapon" and delay, then the friend drops and delays, and then I summon the weapon into their hand. Especially if we have discussed the manuver earlier. But yeah, some stickler GMs might not allow it. Still, there are a lot of uses. If you have a 1 handed swashbuckeler/ rogue, you can summon a flaming rapier into their free hand, then they can drop their weapon on their turn. It's not a perfect spell, but I've gotten a lot of use out of it.
