Dev Mattson 2 big pieces should be enough. Wash it thoroughly before use and soak it in a little warm or hot water before adding. If you want add 1 more piece incase and after adding that warm water plus puli piece to the curry, incase it's too sour you can take one piece out after tasting before all the sourness is released :D
