You are absolutely correct about the Dell. As a previous Dell xps 13 plus owner, I definitely do not recommend it at all! I had the xps 13 plus with i7-1260p, OLED 3.5k, and 16gb ram. The battery life is terrible with only 3-5 hours of usage before it dies out. The fans are running so loud consistently like a jet engine. The Dell xps would lag randomly due to overheating issues. I ended up returning it after using it daily for nearly a month, with about 7 hours usage per day. I ended getting the Lenovo yo 9i with a 2.8k OLED 90hz screen, 16gb ram, i7-1260p. The Lenovo 9i lasted about 8-9hours of daily usage and it is so quiet while doing heavy workload. The Lenovo yoga 9i also doesn't lag like the xps 13 plus. I highly recommend the Lenovo yoga 9i with the 2.8k OLED. 💯 Avoid the 4k OLED model

What you've said has been an ongoing problem with dell XPS' for years. it's so disappointing. Id say definetly check out the new zenbook line from asus (the zenbook s 13 oled and 14 oled) (amd versions)

You are a Mac Fan which is your choice !, but you really dont compare apples with apples . Personally I worked on apple print servers back in the 00.s and hated then with a passion . The OS 9.2 at the time was clunky and was inclined to just freeze . The most reliable server was the Solaris (unix based server) with Creo Citex close behind . I still would not have anything apple even though Windows based stuff has its faults . Also the Mac has non changable ssd , which is crazy .

I have the same spec XPS Plus and this review is on point. At best 4 hours of battery life. I ended up going back to my MBP M2.

Where are the other 13 inch laptops on your comparison table ? Crickets. "I've got an M2 order and this is just a bash dell video" should have been your lead in.

Nah. I just wanted to provide my input on a machine that I was excited about for months only to be disappointed in the final product. Ended up with the new specter for my windows laptop and am much happier with it.

@@shinynewgadget5163 ... I7-1260P or I7-1280P (1280P has slightly faster clock speed, 2 more performance cores and 24MB cache instead of 18MB)? I have the i7-1280P and 32GB RAM and disagree with you on performance...Though I have the laptop set to optimum performance profile instead of balanced when plugged in.... But to each his own.

Do you have the OLED? I’m wondering if pushing the high resolution has an impact?

@@silvestrocrino3256 yeah this guy doesn't even give any specifics like WTH?? He's giving his opinion on a product and probably doesn't even know what processor it has, what power setting he tested at, etc. because at maximum performance of course it's gonna be hot and drain the battery.

Thanks very much for the down to Earth review. The battery life for the Dell laptop was very disappointing.
@CalanReichel2 жыл бұрын
you obiviously didnt get a 1280p or got a complete dud if you think the 11th gen chip is even halfway comparable to a 12th gen. Pulling over 13k in cinebench R23 with the 1280p However the thermal design on the 13+ leaves a ton of performance (and HEAT lol ) on the table and it really needs to be improved in the next gen
@elzodvsa62362 жыл бұрын
Just returned mine. Heat management is horrendous, fan noise is right there in typical Dell fashion (Quiet mode comes with trade offs), battery life is poor and the keyboard is average. Good performance and the nicest design in ages, but it is what it is

Truth is good. But I wouldn't compare the MacBook Air to Windows machines. It's pretty nonsensical.
@shinynewgadget51632 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure I agree. As you can see I have them both and use them for similar work. Prefer windows for productivity but can’t count on battery life. Have you used a MacBook Air M1?

He is comparing the effectiveness and battery, which is important to get the tasks done. At the end you buy laptop to do jobs :)

For a lot of tasks, you can run the same or similar apps on Windows and Apple laptops. But for a lightweight laptop, I absolutely require efficiency and superior battery life.
@andrewjazdzyk1215 Жыл бұрын
@Crypto123 for most people I think it's fair, though for those of us that have to use a windows machine due to issues with Mac program compatibility it doesn't. But I'd say we're a minority of the customer base so for the reviewer it totally makes sense. I have to buy a laptop now but when windows comes out with their ARM architecture im going to get serious fomo.
