Dear Diane, thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdow so generously! You are the best art teacher I have found in You Tube. Your tips are all very useful, and I love your fine sense of humor.

Dianne thank you. I have a question: what linseedoil do you use: refined? Bleached? Raw?
@IntheStudioArtInstruction3 жыл бұрын
Only refined linseed oil.

I so appreciate your wisdom! So, would it be possible for closeups on your strokes/examples on the canvas to be able to see clearly what you are teaching? I appreciate the tip, even if more closeups are not possible.😊

This is an earlier Quick Tip. You will find on more recent ones that the camera does come in really close.

These small videos have real big value. Is natural soft hair preferred for riggers? I have a set each of bristle and synthetic brushes but neither of them include a rigger, so I need to get one. There are some small detail brushes but they don't have the long hair length like the riggers I see being used.

Harish, for painting with oils, I find the synthetic riggers preferable, but I like the natural hair riggers best for watercolor. In the long run, it's good to have both available because each has its own capability.

@@IntheStudioArtInstruction Thanks for that info. I'll start with a synthetic for now. Haven't really dabbled too much in watercolor. The couple of times I tried it I realized you need to be a confident painter and I'm not there yet. That medium does not tolerate indecisiveness. Plus I'm having too much fun with oils right now.
