Quick Tip: BMW & Mini Cooper- Secret Window Controls

Here's a quick video showing how to roll down and roll up your windows using only your remote or key, on a BMW or Mini.

So when its raining i dont have to get soaked because i left the windows cracked😅. This is amazing. But my sunroof gets stuck all the time, so i just tried it and closing the windows wont work...😢

I can open the windows with the key but I can not close it tbh I actually need it cause I often let the windows open it's kinda helpful to close the windows without entering the car Mine is Turkey package btw

I got a 2012 Mini Cooper color red and black hardtop. When I hit the unlock button on my key, it rolls down the windows. And when I hit the lock button on my key it didn’t close those windows. So I just use that manual key to lock it and it closes up the windows. Thanks for your help!

I got a 2012 too. I've been climbing in mine, starting the car & using the buttons. I didn't know about the key thing...

How do you program the car/remote to close The windows? I just found out about opening them,then I just saw your video closing the windows with remote. I want mine to do that, lol

I was able to program mine, by putting the key fob in and turning to the on/run position. Then you go through the settings button on the end of your blinker switch, to change a number of settings. These will be programmed to each specific fob.

Hi, I've the same issue- I can only open but can't close the windows by remote control. Did you know what to do to close the windows by remote control? My Mini is also R60 2015

I hate this feature! It's so easy to accidentally press the unlock button when away from the car. Can this feature be disabled?

I have R50 Cooper from 2003. All windows opens from remote key but wont close. 😢

This works on 10th gen Hondas to as far as the holding the lock button to get the windows down

Jhoana Munguia So in some countries, BMW has disabled the remote roll-up feature. This is most likely for safety reasons. I had my car “coded” which enabled this feature.

@@Yomm23 You can actually buy a supported wireless OBDII adapter and use bimmercode to code it. I did it. So easy, it’s just changing a No to a Yes.

It might be common knowledge to most of us, but some new owners might not know this! :)

So that’s actually what the next video I’m posting is all about! In most parts of the world, rolling up the windows is disabled by default because of safety reasons. I coded my car to allow them to be rolled back up! I haven’t had any time with finals rolling around to film how to do it, but I promise you the video will be made and it is dead simple once you see how it’s done. Thank you for the comment!

Yeah- I tried coding my Mini to do this. Turns out, they didn’t add this feature until 2011 or so, so it wouldn’t work because there’s physically not a controller to do that
