For after effects: If oy drag the preview in the external monitor hit ctrl+\ twice and it will go full screen!!!!!!

@Tim C: not sure. never tried CC, but the only other thing i could suggest is, if you unlock the panel and just size it to your second monitor. I've had to that for CS6 because when i would minimize the program, both monitors would display the output screen. i would have to keep open another program for it to not happen.

i like the drag&drop better in premiere. for some reason, both my monitors display the full screen when i minimize the program. its really aggrivating! it only dose it in cs6 but not 5.5!

So you actually can't get the preview for full screen? ctrl+\ didn't work and I hate those bars around the footage, would be nice to see the footage in it's actual size.

I tried doing this in Adobe Premiere CC. I can't get it to add the 2nd monitor and it keeps freezing the program. Do you know what could be causing that?

I think that you could greatly facilitate your daily work with multiple monitors by installing third-party software. It is proved that work with multi monitor system becomes faster and more convenient if you have a taskbar on each monitor. So you can run the program on the desired monitor, understand how and where minimized applications runs, use the second monitor while you play or watch fullscreen video on the primary. i go to EDIT>preferences>playback and find only adobe DV as playback device no other devices are there then how to get my monitors on it.

try updating your graphics drivers. it happened to me once and that solved the issue 😊

I haven't used After Effects in a long time, but as far as I know, there is no dual monitor support. If you follow my video, that's the only way. Just save it as a new workspace.

Music Time on pc go to -edit-preferences-playback. Alternatively, you can just drag the output window to the second monitor and size to fit. if you are still having trouble let me know :)

+Music Time I had that same problem and it was because I didn't have my monitor's driver installed. Once I installed it it started to show up.
