Quick Tip - How to Actually Charge Hyundai Genesis Coupe Key Fob (2010 - 2016)

I called the dealer this morning wondering if they could help cause my battery died and couldn’t get into the car , they advice me to tow it to them so they can open it , also called a lock smith , they lowest they charged was 150$ . But that God for youtube and this Channel i got it open just by watching this video 💯🙏🏽 how could i not like , comment and subscribe. I wish life was always this easy lol 😂

For those with BK 2's the slot that he puts the FOB in is under the arm rest instead of under the radio/climate control.

Would it be where you charge the key or ?

@@EidherMendoza Can't charge the key. The battery is not rechargeable. When the battery dies, you pop it open and replace it.

@@spoonerdee my battery broke I was wondering if I could use the key in the meanwhile till I get another one programmed? But I will have to disable the alarm correct ?

@@EidherMendoza Maybe. I'm not totally sure how the system works. I'm guessing if you use the key (not the fob) to open the door, it should disable the alarm? Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to make it so you can unlock it and start it with a dead fob. Nothing left to do but try it and see. Let us know how you make out.

OMG! Thanks, spoonerdee. Good thing it wasn't a snake. Got the car started with the fob in the slot. Unfortunately, the fob is still dead when out of the slot. Probably needs to be reprogrammed by a locksmith (cheaper than the dealer)..

I have a 2913 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. One of the key fobs appears to be dead (already changed the button battery). The other fob works fine, so the problem is not in the car. I think the dead fob needs to be re-programmed. The dash warning says to put the fob "in the slot". I have searched all over the dashboard and there is no hidden slot or key port anywhere!!! Suggestions?
