How do you measure for an undermount sink?

dave---do you measure the inside of the sink or the outside---my sink is 30 x 16.5 stainless---inside dimensions--

Thank you for this. I've watched so many videos on measuring but none discuss whether it's ok to have the counter hang over a little or recede a little. That was my biggest question since there are not sinks of the exact size!

Yes..Thanks for your help with this one. I knew it would not be easy. Our sink is a white porcelain with a big side and a smaller side. Just like the one you showed in today's video. I work at Home Depot in appliances and showed my wife one that looks like it in BLACK. She loved it. That is when I looked at your video on picking the correct sink. I knew It would not be easy, but I thank you for helping me with this. It would be nice if I could just paint it black and polish it. Thanks, Al

You did nothing as far as showing how to measure, you basically say to research. What was the point of this useless video.

Dude! How do we identify who made the sink? We cannot locate the manufacturer number or the name in or under the sink.

You can send me a picture and I'll take a look. Sometimes there's a sticker on the under side.

RemodelMedia thank you for replying. I’ll take a few pics of the face and the underside and send them to you. And btw, the kitchen sink and a few other large ticket items including a custom speaker system are uniquely without a brand or serial numbers.. perhaps they fell off a truck.. lol. ...

We are currently packing for a move to Stonega, Va. A small mining town near the Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky border. We had hoped to leave today but packing up (and downsizing) 20 years of life is a more daunting task than we realized. But we hope to leave very soon.
