i relate so much to this video! really well done. the tip with the crossfade is a gamechanger. tip: when creating a "fake" second angle, there is something called the 30 degree effect, which says that its better when you are switching from one angle to another that there are minimum 30 degrees difference. also try to have the second clip on the same eyelevel as the first one. great account! keep on the good work.

great clear little tips ! Finally someone gives actual useful informations on the subject. Most videos are like "well, yes, so I go in, I cut what I like, and then I put it together, and then I put B-roll. Pro tips"... :p

Awesome. Thank you. I knew there had to be a way to disable sections of clips without moving it, deleting it or hiding the track globally. Thanks man

Seriously changed the way I edit when I started disabling clips instead of using hidden tracks.

what is the shortcut for enable an disable the clip like you use at 3:34?

From the looks of it, this is an underestimated channel. These were some great tips! Only request would be to provide a couple more basic instructions. For example verbalizing the hotkeys for the actions or slowing down just a little when showing how you got to each setting. This information is not only great for experienced folk... it will make those of us with less experience improve faster :)

1:43 How did you shift all the clips at once to the left?

Ripple delete. I've since added a shortcut for "Sequence>Close Gap" which removes all the gaps at once.

Great tips. I like to version all my editing projects at different points so I can go back if I mess something up. Is there a particular reason why you use layered timelines instead of multicam or does Premiere nor have multicam?
@drewbdarby4 жыл бұрын
Premiere has multicam, but for just a two-camera shoot with one subject I don't ever feel the need to work in mc. If it gets up to three cameras, or if there are multiple subjects with single shots, then I'd move up to multicam.
@johnalmighty3 жыл бұрын
How are you highlighting the space between clips and clamping them together without dragging them?
@drewbdarby3 жыл бұрын
That's a ripple delete in Premiere.
@Design4754 жыл бұрын
How far would you punch into a 1080p shot like you did with a one cam setup, before you can notice a drop in quality?
@drewbdarby4 жыл бұрын
I’d do maybe 125% - you’ll likely notice the drop in quality at any scale, but if you’re delivering for web then I find it’s not terribly noticeable.

Awesome video. When you say “pull” the section you want from the interview sync or select, what do you mean? Do you just copy and paste? Thanks!
@drewbdarby3 жыл бұрын
Copy and paste, or drag/drop if I’m using pancaked timelines.
@Kunal6363 жыл бұрын
@@drewbdarby Thanks for reply. Last question....when do you add in background music for interviews? Towards the end when you have selected your best cuts? I usually cut my video clips to the music, but I'm thinking with interviews, it is different. Thanks again!
@drewbdarby3 жыл бұрын
I generally lay in music towards the very end, after I’ve made selects and assembled them in order.

Still learning and figuring out the whole KZbin game! Even if a video only helps 5 people, that's still better than me keeping these ideas to myself.
@getupagain42854 жыл бұрын
Drew B Darby Yeah, wasn’t a dig at you or anything. The thing is though, as a video editor/ videographer it’s automatically hard to grow a channel as there are so much of us, but the more consistent you are the more views you’ll get over time,
