Of all the tips I've seen on wrapping, this one was the most helpful. Nice work.

Thank you so much for sharing. This is so very helpful. I started wire work about 2 years ago and I have learned to do almost everything except I kept trying wireweave and it would turn out so bad I would get discouraged. I finally had aha moments when I watched you. The tension is key. I was putting such intense tension on my wires they would get misshapen . I would like to share with beginners such as myself , be careful. I am sporting tendinitis on my left thumb palm area. It is painful and I know what I was doing. Holding it wrong and trying so hard. Harder tension is not better, just wrong. You have shown me the correct positioning and my left hand thanks you. Had to chuckle though not funny but my fingers now are sporting bandaids like yours. 26 gauge is a little rough for me right now, even though it looks better on my stuff. Again Thanks for sharing your gifts. It’s invaluable to me. Such a kind thing for an artist to do. Happy Day to you.

Thank you so much I've been trying this whole time to figure out why my base wires keep twisting like they were . I was holding it back too far thank you so much!!!!

Perfect explanation! Just want I needed to know. I was pulling down but I was also holding with my other hand so I was getting kinda wonky weaves. But boy do you go at it fast, as mentioned by someone else, you make it look effortless!

Thank you for explaining this. As a beginner wire wrapper I often struggle with the tension of the wire, usually applying too much, so your tips will definitely help me. You make it look so effortless.

Not effortless, just a lot of practice. Eventually you find a rhythm.

Hello Nicole, thanks you very much for sharing your works. I have a question, how do you do to give that color to the cooper? Could you film another little video-tip? Thanks, and I wish you a nice day!

This is my biggest issue in wire weaving. Especially when I use 4 or more base wires. They get tight and than are hard to wrap the weaving wires close together because of the tightness of the wraps. When I try to wrap looser... the weaving wire tends to "bubble" up. I am using mostly 18g and 26g wires. Thanks for your videos, I love them.

Can you show a video on how to wire coil and weave more then 3 stones or drilled beads for the chunky multi stone wrapped pieces? I try and try and I ALWAYS seem to mess up somehow. Love your videos they got me wire wrapping and weaving again.

First of all, you are freaking brilliant and incredible and every other positive adjective... I am so inspired. I have already purchased one of your pdf's and I have my sights set on a couple more. Your sharing these videos for free is (insert additional positive adjectives)!!! I have seen other people take pliers of various types during the weaving and crimp the wires down. Do you ever do this, or is it only in the case of a continuous wrap like you did on the half-round video? If I didn't have to do that all the time, I think I would get much faster, but when I first started (about a month ago), my woven wires were going ever which way... ha ha. Again, thank you so much. Your work takes my breath.

+Chris Hayes Thank you for the compliment! I generally don't encourage people to use tools to correct problems with the weaves, but rather to focus on improving grip and tension and practice practice practice until those weaves are consistent. It can take some time, and sometimes it's easier to start with larger gauges of wire, like an 18 and 24, verses the 22 and 28 that I tend to use in demonstrations. I try to only ever use pliers to place, position or correct my work wire when using the half round. But with weaving, in general, try to avoid tools all together, since they can sometimes be more problematic than they are worth.

Thank you very much Nicole for your wonderful videos and great tips. I might have missed it in earlier videos, but how do you keep your wires at a certain distance from each other while weaving? For example if you need to set a cabochon so it fits in on the sides. I find keeping the same distance extremely challenging since the wires tend to pull closer as you work. Thank you!

Thanks so much Im in tears right now because I am using Sterling silver wire and have broken the wire two different times and destroyed the basewires. I have to get this ring done for a nurse here at a Assisted living facility I live at. Ive tried doing this with artistic wire i cant get the same look out of each weave. I have wasted so much wire. ugh😢🥴🙃😔😱🙄

How do you stop the base wires from overlapping eachother?

Usually they are either attached to a frame or attached to one another in a few spots to keep them in place.

Sometimes when I am using 3 wires the middle base wire wants to jump up and the base wires for a triangle instead of being flat. Any tricks to avoiding this? is this a tension issue?
@GoArtYourself8 жыл бұрын
+Sam Adams Yes that sounds like a tension problem... pulling too tightly on the weaving wire will pull those base wires out of formation.

Looks like she started with 6, or whatever, but then split them up on the right side, using some to go down into the bead and the others to finish wrapping around in a smaller but likely more intricate weave design.

Nicole, I hate seeing how your fingers get hurt while doing what you obviously love doing. I assume that you are thinking about it too. But perhaps you can look further, and get some advice, somewhere, may be from companies that make protective wound dressing, or something like that. I wonder if the companies you buy wire from know more. At any rate - I love your work. What a talent. Yaffa
@GoArtYourself9 жыл бұрын
yaffab11 My fingers themselves are usually fine. The tape I'm wearing in the videos is a padded medical tape to prevent calluses and blisters and pokes and such. Mostly, it's just my finger nails. Which is just a lost cause. lol. As a wire worker, I don't even attempt to have pretty nails anymore.

Maybe your fingers are not in good shape as you said(that's Masters price) but your brain will be in good shape until last day, because you stimulate it with acupuncture and acupressure in fingers. So it's worth it😉
