Hi buddy im going to el salvador in November i haven't been back since 86 i was 6 years old when my family came to the USA fleeing the Civil war that broke out in the 80s. Im glad you were able to find your birth mom and family. I can relate to how you felt at first. In the beginning I was like "oh hell no I'm not going there" especially with all the negative press that el Salvador gets. My family and cousins go all the time and they love it. One day I thought to myself I need to be open minded and I began to research. I came to find out what an amazing country el Salvador is, it's beautiful, the people I heard are so nice. I was overwhelmed with these feelings of joy and how proud I felt to be from el Salvador like if it my roots were telling me to come visit. So I decided to go back and visit this November I'm so excited I cannot wait. Suchitoto is one of the places on my list to visit, it was the 1st capital of el Salvador about 500 years old if I can remember and the epicenter of salvadoran culture and art. The place looks like its frozen in Time they say. Anyway, sorry so long lol it's nice to see someone who i can relate to having been raised in the USA. Luv the videos thanks for sharing your trip with us

People in El Salvador are not nice because they want more tourism, they are nice because that’s who we are. Please don’t mis speak of our culture for the sake of making a video. Choose your words carefully so you don’t mis represent out beautiful country.

Not sure where I said that in the video. I think there need to be more tourism which is why I put my videos out to show people how cool the country is. Yes everyone I met was nice without strings attached, however, I also do believe in being nice and catering to foreigners for the sake of tourism. I’m a business person.

Hey Salvador, have you you watched any youtube videos from Gringos and Europeans doing vlogs in Latin America? Maybe that will help you appreciate more your own native land, man. Because somehow you are coming across as very distant and indifferent and even arrogant to your own people and country. It almost sound like you went there to judge them. Try to see the good side of your own people man. They are good people, give them a chance and open your heart. A little humbleness from your part would also help. Listen man, I'm a Salvadorean that grew up in the US and i can tell you that i love this country, its the best country in the world but lately watching Gringos and Europeans vlogging in latin america made me change the negative perceptions a had of my own people, and somehow made me proud of my roots and culture. I can tell your gringo parents did a good job rasing you, because you seem to be a good kid. Awaken that other side of yourself(the Salvadorean side of you) and accept it. It will make you more complete as a person. Again i congratulate your parents for giving you a good life! God bless you!

I have supported smart people in the country using Kiva (and continue to). I have driven business to local tour companies. I’ve made KZbin videos to encourage tourism to the country. I’ve written a book sharing more of my thoughts on the country and my misconceptions. I have also made videos to share my thoughts on the security, culture, and beautiful views there. What have you done to help your people?
