@@bigpickles A Sad world we live in... endless arguments... comments... One Upmanship... I don't know about this specific controller but you can set your crossfader curve on various mixers for the past 20yrs... Chasing, Chopping whatever it's called it's been done for years. I don't think this guy is trying to profess a new technique, he's just trying to explain things to help learners. If you are looking at modern mixers and turntables I'd suggest something like the DJM-250 or Xone:23 and in regards to turntables the Reloop are amazing, as well as Pioneer DJ 1000 and the almighty Technics 1210

Roll effect would do the same thing in a much simpler way
@BopDJstore4 ай бұрын
1) Roll on DJM mixers works by sampling as soon as the FX is engaged if you have a beat that has multiple switches this will not work as you'll only be looping the portion you've selected. 2) The point of this tutorial is to also help DJs in general, not every unit on the market has the 'Roll' feature so this allows people to utilise the basic skills and technology available without using other FX :) So this tutorial teaches you the advanced techniques so you can utilise them later on

Just use delay or roll and free up your 2nd channel..
@BopDJstore12 күн бұрын
Roll relays the same signal this will keep the tracks original composition and switch between them :) But we hear you! This is a fun way to practice before stepping up to a 4-channel mixer!
@K3ndex121012 күн бұрын
@@BopDJstore I 1st used this technique on vinyl. Use 2 of the same track with 1 track a half beat behind the other. But obviously this uses both decks. When I got my 1st pioneer mixer I discovered I could do the same thing but using the delay set to half beat but use the wet/dry knob to switch from full left to full right and back to full left, creating the drum roll sound. You can also set to 3/4 or 1/1 timing. Using the knob to swap the tracks then frees up the 2nd deck so you can "double up" 1 track while mixing in another. Only thing is, the knob can become worn quicker... 😩😂

You can use either, theirs no wrong or right way. This way teachs you to do it with two and eventually you can set it up to do it on a 4-channel mixer with 4 tracks. Where as utilising a crossfader it can only ever be 2 😁
