Good morning Rudy! Good to see Buster is supervising. I have a quick question (out of complete ignorance and not trying to be a smart aleck). If you put hydraulic cement in the expansion joint, doesn't that defeat the purpose of the expansion joint? Of course, you are in a warmer climate than up here in New England, but I imagine there is still some movement in a slab no matter where you live. BTW, I'm way too old to do flooring anymore. My back hurts watching you do it.

HI Meat! Yea Buster is always lurking around somewhere.... I needed his hat yesterday to go on a bike ride... was a little chilly.. 😀. That cement is really just a filler so that those lines don't show thru the flooring and believe me they will if there's a low spot. It doesn't have the strength to combat that floor if it should want to expand or contract.. Think of tile on a concrete floor for example the ceramic or porcelain, slate or whatever it may be is going to have a slightly different expansion / contraction speed than the concrete it's cemented to, but yet it doesn't crack....Also the thinset for the tile is down in those expansion joints too... Hope that makes sense... 😀

I like the sound of that mic, which one is it if you don't mind me asking?
