Hello. I store my 5 1/4 x 4 designer paper and my scraps by color in small Iris photo boxes.i realized I just kept buying more boxes and was not use the scraps. Watching you videos gave me the push I needed. so far I have made over 200 A2 cards and used up the scraps in 4 boxes. I am also getting better at using the many card ketches I have printed out. thanks for the challenge and for taking the time to share your gift. patti moffett

I'm like you! I have drawers and containers full of loose scrapbook paper from having "collected" it over the last 20 years lol 😁. I really need to just start using it up! (p.s. when you were flipping through the papers you had cut down for note cards, I probably have most all of those same papers lol). (2nd p.s. lol 😁 if I sit still for even a minute, then I definitely start nodding off. Probably because I'm a night owl and stay up way too late crafting, and then have to get up early for work).

I get so focused on using up my pads that I sometimes forget about the loose paper! And like you, I get to bed late and get up early. It’s become the joke of our family that non can fall asleep anywhere at anytime!🤣

Recently I have acquired a giant stash of paper. It started with scrap PDX, a reuse it store in the Portland Oregon area, then you 70% off sales at Joannes and Michael’s. I am a teacher and the school year has started. I’m going from 6 AM to 8 PM most nights. By the time I get home I have no energy for crafting and end up just watching videos of other people crafting. 🤣🤣 My paper stash is very neglected right now. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

You're kidding, right? Portland has a craft thrift shop basically? AND IKEA??? AND It's 72 minutes to the beach???? 😮😅😂 I currently live in Boise, Idaho but due to the death of my sister I'm moving into her home in Portland to do some updating and get it ready to sell. Looks like I'm not going to have much time to work on the house... I've got crafting to do! I was actually in the process of selling my home in Boise and moving closer to my grandkids but was more than happy to make a pit stop in Portland for a few months so I could do all of my IKEA shopping - now that I know about "Scrap PDX" I may never leave Portland, lol. I've been saying for a couple of years now that I would love to start a second-hand store for scrap supplies - I can't believe it wouldn't do well!

Welcome to paper hoarders anonymous! Ha ha! I'm glad you are going to give it a try! I've decided I need to do something like this process more often to use up the loose papers. Thanks for watching!

I put my loose scrap papers in one photo box. When the photo box can't hold any more, I start cutting them down into the sizes I'll use.

I will try to show some of the finished projects. It depends on the timing of getting them done and my craft shows. Sometimes I am finishing things up the night before. 😜

Oh man. Just when I felt I was making progress on my paper cause I was KILLING IT with my paper pads, you have to go and remind me about all of that loose paper. I have two boxes sitting near the front door to bring to donate. Now that I've seen this I'm gonna have to go thru them ONE MORE TIME to take out that paper that I love but was ready to see go to a new home. Cause I know that there is some great paper in there... I only sit and watch hockey with the hubby, and you can't sleep when hockey IS ON. But I do have to admit that we have renamed NASCAR to NAPSCar because of my propensity to snooze until the final laps. Thanks for some great ideas,
@BourbonCreekCrafts5 жыл бұрын
Sorry to give you something else to think about!!!!! It's so funny that you mention NASCAR! We don't watch it much anymore since we got rid of cable, but when we were watching it all the time, I could never make it through a race without napping (unless I was doing something). But the funny thing was that I would sleep with one ear open apparently, because anytime they mentioned Tony Stewart I would wake up and be like "what happened to Tony???"😂

Good for you! I haven’t bought loose paper in several years, but I certainly have a stash of it, along with a zillion pads.

I have TONS of loose paper! Some of it originally came from pads that I tore apart but most of it is true loose sheets. 🤦🏼♀️

I'm going back and looking for some particular video topics & came across this one. I love your craft fair items. The hot cocoa packs are a way to jazz up a simple gift, that the recipient could potentially regift the envelope too. I like a gift that can be repurposed. I'm not sure if I've seen the nugget things. Will have to look for those too! As always a great video!

I also fall asleep if I am not doing something when I sit and watch youtube videos or even netflix. I am on a mission as well to use up all those small scraps of paper that I just can't seem to part with. I have a whole drawer full, along with scraps of cardstock. I think once the holidays have passed I am going to just work on using it all up before breaking into any more pads or new packages of paper! Thanks for the inspiration!!

I've been following for awhile.. I *might* have (ahem) a **FEW** paper pads of all sizes that need to get used up (rather than hoarded - gasp!!). I watched your Use It Up 2020 video today and started making plans for projects so then of course I had to go back and watch a few craft your stash videos for some additional ideas. I plan to do at least two big craft fairs this year (one in March so need to get to work) and these videos are super helpful. Previous years time gets away from me and I just don't do it... big goal for 2020 is for my craft room to be fully functional rather than overstuffed to the point I can't find what I want easily. Why not make a little extra cash as well?! Thanks again! Happy Crafting! Lisa

Hello brand new to your channel this is the first video I have seen of yours oh boy can I relate tons of loose papers and scraps I do cut them down as I do projects and that's has helped. Yes idal hands never especially during craft fair season. One thing I do to help control my scraps is keep my favorite most used Punches on my desk like hearts. And punch all my small scraps put in a Containers sperated. When I need them it sure saves time. Thanks again for all the tips. Have a great Holiday season, Roxanne

Could you show the clipboard you use to do your cards on when you are at your girls activities and how do you transport the paper and stuff you take with you? This was very inspiring, I don’t do craft shows but I am going to us your tips to work on my cards! Thank you!
@BourbonCreekCrafts5 жыл бұрын
The clipboard I use is just a plain brown one that I either got at Goodwill or the Dollar Tree. Its just the standard size but it fits perfectly on my lap and gives me a solid surface to work on when I'm out and about. I put all of project parts into baggies and then carry the baggies, my clipboard and any other supplies I need in a little tote bag (that my mom made a LONG time ago).
@pjp93834 жыл бұрын
I know this was a few months ago - and we actually aren't going anywhere these days! But when things get back to normal-ish, you could look into getting one of the clipboards that many contractors use, that holds their invoices etc inside. It's like a shallow box, with the clip on top. They're a bit more expensive than a regular clipboard, but you could load a few items inside and just have the clipboard to carry with you.

So, a few weeks ago I told you I was going to have to stop watching you because it made me just want to make stuff, but I was moving... We are in the new house, I am working on getting my craft room together, but holy cow!!! I am so... almost embarrassed at the amount of stuff I have accumulated over the last few years... The number of duplicate pads from Michael's I have that are themed, not solidish... Most people who see my channel or know me in person, they think of the yarn horde, but the paper has gotten out of control too!!! I don't sell a lot of stuff, I donate (all crafts I do). I work a lot slower than you do through pads (because I do other crafts all the time) but I think I am going to have to most closely follow your more process oriented videos and get some paper worked through! It is intense!!! I knit and crochet while watching TV, riding in the car, watching KZbin (including you just now). I can't sit still. I have to engage my whole brain. I wish it were falling asleep, but I have had days.... Thank you for the share. I loved hearing how you take your paper crafting with you on the road. That was super cool to hear!!!
