Hello, this QB transaction does not pay the bill in the "real world", correct? The bill must be paid by calling the vendor and giving them the c.c. # or some scenario like that.

Yep that’s exactly right. This is just to reflect in QB that it was paid by credit card

Great series of videos! Currently I am not putting my CC bills into QB but paying them online. After the fact, I upload the CC transactions into QB and assign an account to each transaction. Then I reconcile the CC and the Bank. My question is this: When I buy parts online with a credit card I do a Purchase Order. When the parts arrive I receive them without a bill. Consequently, my unpaid Vendor bills reflect many paid bills as unpaid bills. How would I deal with that or prevent that from happening in QB?

I would either 1) not do purchase orders or 2) enter a bill for the receipt of goods when you get them then go in and pay the bill with that credit card. Then that charge will already be in Qb and you will not have to add them when you import the cc transactions

I can do that, but it's simple. Pull the bill up on your screen, go to Edit and Delete Bill

This is a bit misleading as its showing how to record a credit card payment, not actually pay the bill using a credit card. Is it possible to really pay the bill through QB with a credit card?

How do I pay using a debit card but for the same banking as my checking acct and have it deduct from the checking acct balance.

Pay it out of Checking like Normal but assign the check number as “Debit”

Ok now that I have paid the vendor with a CC how do I pay the credit card company when it's due? That is not apparent to me.

You have to set up the card in your chart of accounts, enter the card charges and reconcile the credit card

I pay my materials invoices with my Amex credit card. I enter the invoices individually and then pay them with the credit card option in "Pay Bills". I have credits from my suppliers and QB doesn't let you enter negative amounts as bills. They tell you to enter them as credits. I'm OK with that so far. When I go to pay my AMEX bill I simply check off all the bills pertaining to that particular supplier. I don't see anywhere on that page for checking off credits. The credits aren't there anywhere that I can see. Can you tell me how that can be done? Thank you in advance for your much appreciated help.
