Hello to all my contractor friends using QuickBooks online! I will show you how to set up QuickBooks Online to automatically mark up any billable expenses you record that relate to a particular job that the client agreed to reimburse you for. The procedures are the same after you set this up in the account settings and company settings window. I thank you all and hope that you will click “like” and “subscribe.

Thank you and I'm glad you like the videos and that they're helping you.. When you pay for an expense that's billable in reimbursable,. That's the moment you put that specific expense on to an invoice.so that means you can only bill once for an expense that you recorded into quick. Books online more desktop.. You would not want to be able to make 2 transactions from one billable expense. Mark

This is exactly what I was looking for. I will be looking at this in greater detail when I am sitting at my computer setting up my first quick book invoice template. I plan on using the QB mobile app a lot but it's my understanding that once I set the template online it will be available in the mobile app ? Also for those times where a quote / estimate is given where an hourly rate is not applied and it defaults to the quote does QB recognize that and except the issued estimate as the invoice?

Hi. Need help. When i click on expenses the bill and expenses pops up, there is no sub titles to the right. The on thing there is how to set the bill payment terms. How do i fix this?

what version on QB in this? When I go to "bills and expenses" from your second example, I have none of those options to change. All I have is a line that says "default bill payment terms". Thank you

You must have the plus version of QuickBooks online if you are contractor using contractor related features The first video in the contractors playlist does explain that you need at least the plus version or the advanced version to have those contractor features. You could get the whole playlist by looking closely in the description text field for the link to the entire QuickBooks Online contractors playlist or you can click on the top right corner of the video to get the direct KZbin links to the entire playlist. The full playlist will have at least more of what you need and might have everything Mark

You record all expenses the same way and then your accountant decides what's deductable. -Mark

very nice thanks, i just have a question with a case i have with a client. the project cost $100k, i charge customer $10k. he pays me $110k but not all of it is my taxable sales income. my taxable sales income is just that $10k. how to i record that $100k so that it doesn't appear as income? so that it doesnt have "sales tax" and doesnt show in my profit&loss statement. the customer deposits $100k to my account as a (trust) (not income) so that i can pay for his project's bills and expensess. my agreement with him is that he pays me $10k (this is my income) for overseeing the project, and paying & recording (with the trust $100k) all bills and expensses. but i dont want to record that $100k as income becouse if i do that than it must have sales tax.. but it isnt an income! how do i record this transactions without the $100k to be recorded as an "income" or revenue ? because i dont want to record sales tax for it since it is basicly money that the clint gave me as a trust. and my markup for it is just $10k fixed money + sales tax. thanks

So when i go to new invoice, add the customer and correct date and then go over to the estimate and click "add" it says my total of all estimate lines equals $0 instead of the total of the actual estimates. Any Idea why?

You're supposed to open the estimate first and from the estimate you open the invoice window you're not supposed to open the invoice window and try to open the new estimate that would make a blank new estimate So when it's time to make an invoice open the estimate that the invoice will be applied to and from the estimate window click invoice Please let me know if that work
