QuickBooks Online Sales Tax Activating Sales Tax Center

This QuickBooks Online Sales Tax training tutorial will show you how to activate sales tax in QuickBooks Online. After using the account settings window (or company settings window) to acxtivate or “switch on” the sales tax feature, you must input the address of the business primary location. This is what the sales tax rates will be based on. After activating sales tax, you will see that there are fields added to invoices and receipts for sales tax. You will see that you are able to activate the sales tax center. The first time you open the sales tax center, you will confirm that your address that you put in the company settings window is the address that your state sales tax is based on. Then you will see the tax rules for your location regarding the rate you must charge and collect sales tax with It will show you how often you must send in the sales tax owed and the general rules of your specific sales tax. It knows this by the location of your company. You will then see the first invoice created with sales tax and see how the information about the sales tax you changes will show up in the sales tax center. It will accumulate by sales tax period and the sales tax center shows all taxes owed by sales tax period. It wills how the status of each tax period that you collected for as “owed” or “due” or “past due” until it’s paid for that period. The sales tax reports show the same thing as the sales tax center and it will be “in synch” with the accounts in the trial balance.

Hello! Mark. In my qbo trial , when I get in to tax tab , it's showing a different screen not like your one. In my qbo it's not taking the company address automatically rather it's asking for manual input. Please help me Sir how I can get in to tax center in my qbo.

Hello Mark! if a company is enjoying Sales Tax exemption what is the process to submit the tax papers through QBO. Please advise me.

@@worldwidequickbooks Thanks for your quick response. All of your video are excellent and very much helpful to me. I understand your point. Please let me explain the situation: As my company is under Tax holiday i.e. no tax is applicable for next few Tax period, currently can I create Customer Invoice with uncheck the "Tax check box" in order to avoid calculation of Tax.? Later on when Tax the exemption period will over then I will check mark the "Tax check box" in order to auto calculation of Tax by QBO, while creating Customer Invoice. So my question is, will QBO allow me to create few Invoices with out Tax & few Invoice with Tax of a same customer? Hope you understand, my concern is not related with CPA, it's very much related with QBO. Please advice me Sir.

Hi while following along, should we use the 16 Nov 2020 Date when building the invoice or a more recent one that would fall within the current quarter?

When you do the tutorial you can use the current year and use the same dates it really won't matter if you use the past year because these things are just for example as long as you're consistent with the way you do it across the whole tutorial That means if you started using the year 2020 you have to use that for the whole tutorial Mark
