I used a scrap piece of 3/4 inch ply cut in half length wise. Screwed in matching length of plastic rain gutter to retain the tires. Same general idea. Works well. Thanks for sharing.

It's amazing what we can find and use in the scrap lumber bin. Awesome! Mahalo.

Hey Bob. Great idea. Who knew you were a world famous Singer / Musician, Comedian and Carpenter. ;). Have a great day. Stay safe.

Yeah, who knew. My grandmother gave me some construction paper, glue and scissors and said, “go make something.”

Great idea. I bet there is some way I can adapt this so that I can put my etrike in my Kia Sorento when I get my etrike. I am looking at the FS-26 like you have or the Azub Ti-Fly. If I get the FS-26 it will be set up much like yours except I plan to put a Bafang motor on it.

I built the same exact ramps to slide my trike into the back of my SUV. Great minds think alike. Simple concept, takes minutes to build and virtually free. I have since relented and last year bought a Hitchrider brand trike rack and no longer load my trike inside my vehicle. The Hitchrider rack is a very high quality item and is modular to accommodate a trike and a second trike or an upright bike. I strongly recommend the product line. It has a great website and several short KZbin videos demonstrating their products.

@@markfeldman6509 thanks for the insight. If I ever get that second trike for guest who visit, I’m going to need the rack which can hold two. Not enough room in the truck. Been thinking about a pulley system to raise it on the truck racks. Too much work me thinks.

I use the same Hitch Rider as Mark. It is a very versatile rack that you can add accessories for either a diamond frame bike or an additional trike. The company provides informative "how to" videos on KZbin.

Great idea Bob! I'm going to make a set! As soon as I get a truck and convince the state I can see well enough to drive. 😁

I wish I found this last year before I had to order 2 wheel chair telescoping ramps which were expensive but do work great. They replaced the cheap aluminum U tracks I had tried previously but were just too narrow and too flimsy. But it is still difficult with a bad shoulder and a heavy motor on the back wheel without a center ramp. So I was actually planing to build something like this, but you gave me a perfect design.

Glad I was helpful Cindy. Hope yours comes out working like a charm. Mine sure do.

Any ideas for a trike two level storage box? I’m in Michigan and would just store them inside in winter.
@hawaiiantrike-surfkayak2 жыл бұрын
I think a 2x4 or x3 frame tall enough for the smaller trike to roll under, without the seat if possible. The top beams would have a track similar to the ramps I made where the top trike would sit, make ramps for the top trike to roll up to the top beam. That’s the best I could up with. Good luck.
