I am getting my Catrike this week. If you are ever in the Denver or Golden area and are looking for another rider to join let me know. This looks like a ton of fun! I don't know anyone else who has a trike, and your channel has actually encouraged me to dive into it.

@@TrikeTalkinWithGrizzlyGranny 2 weeks ago the Netherlands had some snow and ice, about 1 inch of snow. So there some skating on frozen lakes and tiny canals. 1 week ago the usual rain, but higher temperatures of around 10 C/ 50 F. And the rain was occasional. So not too bad. And now 5 days of dry weather with 50 F temperatures, so nice to take out my trike. I trike to work and I trike to do my grocery shopping. All of them are close to my home. And cycling is very traffic safe.

I hear you! I am so sorry about your back pain. People who do not have any back issues really can't relate. Did you see my first video about my story and how I came to ride a recumbent trike? Back injury. Severe. I still cannot sit upright after a year and a half, but I can ride my recumbent trike all day without a problem. Taking the pressure off my spine has allowed me to do that, and still get great exercise and a whole lot of enjoyment along the way. I encourage you to check out recumbents soon, even while you are still on 2 wheels. All the best...thank you for taking time to watch. Keep on keeping on! I like to say, "Motion is Lotion"! ❤❤❤ what a dreamlike place to ride! Here in Germany we dont habe such perfect roads just for pedestians, bikes and recumbent trikes. Ours are narrow and bumpy, mostly just 1,5 to 2m wide. You have to go slow and carefully. Its not fun at all!

Hi. Thank you for the video - first time I heard about motorless morning ! How challenging was the climb in the loop ? I don’t have assist on my ICE adventure and I fully converted Catrike to be electric for my wife who can’t really use her legs much. She really wants to do this event in upcoming April 28th but she worries my legs aren’t quite ready :) ( we normally ride around Dallas , but we do have second house in CO , just never taken trikes here yet ).
@TrikeTalkinWithGrizzlyGranny8 ай бұрын
Hi! In my opinion, the inclines on the loop would be really tough on a recumbent without e-assist. We encountered riders on 2 wheeled bikes (no e-assist) struggling to get up a couple of the inclines. On a recumbent trike without e-assist, I suspect the inclines might be a challenge for sure. Gary and I both used low to moderate e-assist with appropriate gearing on the inclines only. Hope this helps! If you decide to go, look for us and say hello! Blessings & Happy Trails-GG

Hi love your video, the explanations behind every place, the music, etc. Question What kind of Trike do you ride?
@TrikeTalkinWithGrizzlyGranny13 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and your question! It's a SunSeeker CSX Fat Tad from Utah Trikes. We were able to start with their basic Fat Tad and make our modifications in the order. Trike arrived within 2 weeks. You can change the color, and that will add some time to the process. I got the stock color with is beautiful. If you watch the "My Story" video, it gives you some info. One thing that was so important to us was the suspension that comes on these trikes at a reasonable price...at least compared to other trikes. We also wanted the Fat Tads, because we live on country dirt/gravel roads, and also want to ride in the snow/ice this winter. Blessings, GG

How do you transport your trikes to different locations?
@TrikeTalkinWithGrizzlyGranny9 ай бұрын
Hello! Great question with these bigger recumbents. In the summer, we usually transport them in the back of our truck with a camper topper. We purchased a 3 part, hinged, folding metal frame ramp from Harbor Freight. Lifesaver. We roll one trike up first, scoot it over a bit, and then roll the second on up the opposite direction. Secure the ends near the truck gate with a tie-down strap, fold the triple ramp up and it just slides up in between the trikes' wheels and fits perfectly. It is a piece of cake, even for us, and takes about 5 minutes total! We place a kids' styrofoam boogie board at the end between the trikes and the gate so there is no rubbing. Our truck in not 4 wheel drive, so in the winter, we may drive my Jeep and small trailer with the trikes on that positioned the same way. Opposite directions and with a tie down strap to secure. Use the same ramp. Much less work that when we had two wheel ebikes, and loaded them on a traditional bike rack, by the way. If my Jeep Unlimited was a scosh longer, I could fit my trike in there, but it is a tad too short inside for these large fat tad CSXs. Thanks for watching, and keep on triking! Blessings, GG

There was staff members/volunteers there to guide everyone, as it was so busy. I included a link so you can get some info on the next "Motorless Morning" which they tell us will be sometime this Spring. We ride the main roadway, but they had other trails to access the roadway. Wondered if e-bikes or electric assist bikes would be acceptable on those mornings. You always run the risk of running into a Karen that insists otherwise.
@TrikeTalkinWithGrizzlyGranny6 ай бұрын
YES. On the day we went, we checked the info on the website to verify AND we called. They allowed ebikes and etrikes. Gary and I used as little e-assist as possible, but a little boost now and then came in handy on some of the inclines. No Karen's that day....grateful about that. In fact, had a few cyclists (2 wheeled) that commented to us that they wished they had a bit of e-assist that day! BJ and Jo on Out and About on the Recumbents live in Co. Springs, and they have a couple of vids from those rides. Jo has an e-assist and BJ did not (at that time). Hope you can make it some time. Just check before you go in case some of their ride rules change. Hopefully not. Blessings, GG

@@TrikeTalkinWithGrizzlyGranny Thanks, I've done the loop road with e-bikes before and I'm certainly glad I had it. I've lived in the area for about a year and I'm not sure I could manage without the assist. So, I was wondering about the no motor vehicles day if that would remain true.
@TrikeTalkinWithGrizzlyGranny6 ай бұрын
I think I even printed up the Motorless Mornings page/paragraph where they had a sentence specifically giving permission for e-assist bikes and had it with me on the ride in case someone approached us about that! They just did not allow cars/trucks etc. during the "Motorless Mornings" hours. People were out there skating, riding skateboards, riding those one wheel devices, etc. Just no cars/truck traffic. One never knows these days, because regulations on trails have become quite varied. Gary & I got on a multi-use trail in Denver we had not ridden before, and were told by a cyclist passing by that we were not allowed on that trail. We returned to the trail head, and there it was, in the tiny print. Also, I think some people misunderstand what "No motorized vehicles allowed" means. Many times, that applies to motorized scooters, etc. and not to bikes/trikes. It can be frustrating and does require a fair amount of research before going, at least here in Colorado. Trike ON! -GG
@JacobAnawalt3 ай бұрын
@@TrikeTalkinWithGrizzlyGranny Interesting. So not really motorless? In fact, motors specifically allowed in some cases. I see that even golf carts are on the OPDMD list. There are e-bikes with pedals that can go 60mph. The only thing carving out a Tessla, Varg and Ultra-bee is that it just isn't on their list. Combustion-engine free mornings doesn't quite have the same ring. :)
