There is barely any CaO inside those lumps because actual CaO reacting with water is so exothermic it starts to boil water at the contact surface. It's a very violent reaction.

The quicklime lumps seem to be already hydrated 90%. No gas/heat at all?? If the quicklime (CaO) was fresh from the kiln, or calcined recently - there would vigorous boiling of water

I agree the quicklime chunks I deal with will dangerously react with water

I would like to see this in a experiment like this. -Use a 1" copper tube with 5- 6" with w endcaps. Fill it with calcium oxide or other substances which react exothermic to water. Drill a little hole in the second endcap on the top put in on top . Put the pipe in a bigger cup an fill it with water but mount the pipe on something and then fill water in the reaction chamber

That’s because the person spoke in Spanish. I don’t think it was a Mexican accent, so I’m curious which Spanish-speaking country this person is from. You might want to look not only at the exothermic reactions of oxyacetylene tources, but also the “burning bar” torches sometimes known as “thermal lances." It is these which can cut into thick armored doors and heavy gates, and are among those sometimues used by police and soldiers to open fortified strongholds.
