It would be interesting to see how top mount intercoolers perform if you shield the heat from the engine and seal the scoop to the intercooler.

they are sealed from the factory but yea that would be interesting to see how it performs with some heat shielding. I'd imagine that heat soak will probably still be a problem for longer stints like on track days though....

@@JCMediaYT as long as it was moving and with the help of intercooler water spray, its is comparable to front mount... But once the vehicle stopped or used in low speed average competition like gymkhana/autoX or slalom time trial, thats were the top mount suffer in heatsoak

well it would help during traffic stops but won't make too much of a difference while driving since hot air rises.

FMIC are great if you want to lay down a ton of power, but, without closing the top intake, you will create positive air pressure in the bay and hindering the radiators ability to properly cool the engine. Just basic physics. This is why you see people close the intake off on the hood. The FMIC also prevents airflow to the radiator to cool your engine. More basic physics.

it could actually help, since it lowers the IATs it may help prevent knocking due to heat soak caused by the factory top mount
