I farm too.Lost 2 crops green beans. Deer ate tgem all. Replanted and rain has beat them into the dirt. Farmers are optimists but we are at the mercy of nature. I trutt the Lord will help us all who farm. That "free" food will not be there if farmers cant farm. I pray for your direction to be made clear for you. I farm south of Lake city Fl. I dealt with wind, cold, rainfall excess and dry, animals, weeds 2 new kinds never seen before. I pray that Gods judgment has not fallen on us yet. Prayers are with you.

Thanks for your prayers Edwin. This video is from last year. I am currently harvesting this year’s vegetable crop. It is bountiful, but we are currently dealing with extreme rains.

Brother I am a first generation farmer I feel for you. I currently trying to figure out what Gods plan for me in farming is. I know I am supposed to farm but I don’t know what I am I feel for you brother. I enjoy your videos. Thank you for your time honesty and sharing emotions. God bless you brother I have been blessed so far with market produce this year and hope it continues.

Listening to you talk about your failed crops and the different seasons reminded me of Paul Harvey's So God made a farmer! Farming is certainly a calling, a vocation, because not everyone has the hard working mindset of a farmer as you do. We would all starve if not for men and women such as yourself. Hang in there better days will come.

Patrick I'm sorry for the losses you had. It sad to see you have to go another direction. Fairly new subscriber and was enjoying the pea/ bean videos. You are 100 percent correct. If you go against the Lord's path he will definitely show you the right way and sometime it hurts. One thing to remember is he will never give you more than you can handle. Keep you head up and your heart with him. Hopefully you show us all the direction he takes you.

Excellent commentary. God will honor your honesty (we are all guilty). I tell myself I wouldn't make a good commercial farmer because, even in my small backyard garden, I take things a bit too personally when pests and disease do their thing. Massive respect for you and what you do to make a living.

This is my second year with oxbo, last year I had the year you've had. Peas sprouted in the hull from too much rain. Butterbeans rotted, had Alot of vine just like you said...horrible. I feel for ya, I know it's a tough pill to swallow. I quit the cotton buisness under same circumstances. One door closes another door opens!

Sorry, to hear the bad news. I was looking forward to buying butter beans and peas from you this year. I really enjoy your videos and hope things improve for you and all the farmers in the future. it is really getting hard to find sellers of shelled butter beans and peas in South Georgia. Take care and I wish you the very best....

Man was going to try to order some butter beans from you. Wish I was closer would try to pick up some of that equipment. Grew edible beans many years ago, good real southern butter beans are so hard to find, especially some of the heirloom varieties. Best to you & God Bless.

Lord works in mysterious ways. Maybe he's got a bigger BETTER plan for ya. I live in NW Georgia and if I found this video sooner, and knew you were needing the help. I've got a few friends that could have came down to earn some keep. BTW, that offer stands if you're not too far south. Clearly, I'm not able to drive clean to WAY South Georgia. My health and back won't allow that these days, but we might could figure something out.

I ended up hiring 76 hand laborers the year this was filmed. Last year I harvested near 100% mechanical with 10 or 12 hand laborers picking my zipper variety.

That Cario cleaner is good, but get up with Wellborn Devices (Manufacturer of the Rotofingers) and gt them to build you a eliminator cleaner. It will beat all of them...trust em, it cleans behi8nd the Taylor Shellers at a rate of a bushel a minute.

Awe man Patrick :/ sorry about all the bad news! Keep doing what you do and keep your head up! It will get better! Mercer is a good boy, such a good baby! Love that you had him with you. Can you maybe check phone bills for the day 18mo ago when you called the insurance or check bank statements for the day you bought and paid for the cooler? I wouldn’t be able to help pick but I would surely sit and help sort and do quality control if I was in ur area!

I grow zippers, cream, & purple hulls. They all come off in mid-late June. I have sweet peas about to come off now. Follow the farm (MP Produce) on Facebook to know what we are harvesting and have for sale. Once you see it on KZbin it’s already happened

What variety of butterbeans do you grow? I can only find cangreen variety around me, which are good but I didn’t know which one you used. Thanks

I have grown cangreen or Thoroughgreen in the past. This year I planted Bridgeton. It’s supposed to be similar to cangreen but breed for machine harvest.

Wow Patrick. If I were close, I would come help pick..🤔 Well, I had to come back and edit my comment. I'm sorry! I can hear the disappointment in your voice. I do know that "do what I asked you to do" conversation. But, I want to....I'm realizing the older I get, there is a massively good reason for what we go through. It never seems like it up front. It's had to swallow defeat. But, trust Him...I don't know when you will know, but you will know why. I'm praying for you and your family. BTW- it's not just you..I have been trying to grow taters when I KNOW I was told to plant rice. Guess what's working? ☺☺

So sorry for the bad time you are having . My eyes teared up seeing your video. It’s a shame what this country has become. I’m in NC and have pulled tabbaco for $2.10 a hour . I would have jumped on that money you’ve offered to pick peas , but you’re right . People rather sit home and do nothing. Insurance is a joke., a bunch of crooks.
