Both formed earlier than, and both released music after Quicksand. Kind of weird actually. Quicksand happened so fast. They released an EP within 6 weeks of forming ('90) and then broke up after four and half years or something, in Oct '95. Deftones formed in '88 but took a while to get going and recorded demos and such but the first album didn't come out until the same month, Oct. '95, oddly. Looking forward to hearing the album this weekend.
