When Juggernauts get too close for comfort (to your base) and you don't want to use the resources or take the risk in taking them out, you can manipulate them into following you (in a car) away from the base (by going slow enough for them to keep up with you at a safe distance that is) and when you're far enough away from the base you take off leaving them behind.

Sure you can lure them but... since you are already in your car why not just rear end them a handful of times to kill them with relative ease. I routinely take out plague juggs this way on nightmare zone. So long as you only ram with the rear, your car won't actually take damage.

- Never use "Fast Search", there is no way to make it 100% safe. One exception: Stealth wits specialisation, you will never fail Fast Search with Stealth. It's a meh specialisation for survival (since basic sneak is already so strong), but a great looters specialisation! Also highly recommend Fast Searching with a nearby enclave.

- Crafting materials: Ethanol might actually be the highest priority for you *if you have a surplus in meds/appropriate mod and skills* Ethanol is required for Strong Painkillers crafting. With the right setup, it's uncontested for influence generation (and influence buys all) - 1 med, 2 ethanol create 6 Strong Painkillers which are worth a bit over 200 influence. It's over three times more lucrative to craft these over bulk plague cure for influence (1600 influence vs 500).

I out ran a feral in lethal zone. Out in the middle of the ducker County map. I made 3 survivors with the same 4 skills. Marathon Stealth Close combat And gunslinging. You have to sacrifice 2 backpack slots. But that's OK because they ultimately use far less resources as you can scrap melee weapons. Equip your character with an ultra light backpack it takes up hardly any weight. If your character is of light encumbrance then you can run forever. If you are maxed out on stealth then you can stealth run forever. You can also quick kill. It's one shot kills with close combat... And your weapon will never degrade. And gunslinging can be one shot kills when you snap to target. Generally you can stealth most hordes but if it goes wrong. Keep running in circles... Picking off zombies one by one with close combat. Once I climbed onto a container and crouched.... The zombies just thought I disappeared then I reengaged using stealth and close combat. I keep my ranged weapon for ferals only as I generally climb on top of my car etc and snap to head shots. The repeating crossbow is very useful for this set up but a silenced 9mm is also quite effective. I haven't tried direct head shots with a 50 yet.

*VERY GOOD TIP FOR DEALING WITH JUGGS* Use bouncing borises. These explosives are extremely good at taking out juggs; only requiring 1 borise. These can be made with the independence crafting workbench with the Independence Day DLC. My advice is to use stealth then chuck a borise right underneath the juggs feet (otherwise it won’t kill him with 1). Even on nightmare it will kill the blood jugg with 1.

Leave ferals alone. Though gunslinger is great for them. GREAT vid Banana. Btw, Sniper tower from Builder Leader is great. 50-influence cost. And can rack up a LOT more by shaking around freaks, especially juggs. A tip for looting: only carry one ranged. Less ammo to bring, and an extra open slot to fill while looting

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in the comments, but if you master out your stealth, you actually have a safe fastsearch, due to the game's encoding showing that you have a -100% fast search crash chance! It's been a couple months since I've played, so I don't know if things have changed, but yeah, it's safe on stealth mastered characters! :D Happy hunting!

You can do short bursts of fast searches. Never going beyond 40% of the bar at a time. And never finish a search in fast search mode as it will definitely create noise.

Another good advice is find the worker vans and then park them outside your base. Use them as storage units for resource stashes. Then your set man. You can hold 8 slots of bags and have them on hand at all time 😊

If you have a community member with a maxed out stealth stat always use fast search with them. Tool tip says 50% less chance to fail but it's wrong. It's actually 100% chance not to fail. Try it. It works.

One thing that I like to do to avoid wasting materials is to keep any spare vehicles that I find parked near my base. Any rucksacks that I don't have space in storage for can just go in the trunks of these spare vehicles.

Just started playing. I'm on 'Normal' difficulty and had my 1st Brown Trousers moment last night. On my way home with low ammo and my car got Bloater smoked. I jumped out of the moving car, like the tip videos suggest. rolled to a stop, stood up, and found an angry zombie hoard about 4 meters away. Fired everything in panic and roughly shoulder/head height, while screaming. It was a welcome lesson in being more careful in the future.

Learn to use your melee attacks combined with finishers and then use dodge to create distance to regain stamina you will be surprised at how big of a hoard you can take down solo once you get the timing and mechanics right. Also never leave base without pain killers and snacks that can be the difference between making it back home and losing a valued character.

Been playing on lethal and its been rough. A good tip is if you're full on a resource, take out a ruck sack of that equipment and put it in the trunk of a vehicle you don't use. It won't drain and you'll have it ready to deposit

now I don't know if they changed it but the increased standing early on makes it more difficult. more freaks and plague ferals. I do not like ferals one bit, I've always been too slow in melee combat and even with a pistol. to this day I can't manage to back over one since they glitch through the vehicle. I was fortunate enough to find a van early on and I don't want it in ruins. I also found a 15 shell capacity shotgun which makes light work of ferals, but over all, I avoid jugs and ferals as much as I can. at the start I had 3 ferals near the base, I just avoided the area and went somewhere else. anytime a zombie or screamer screams, I run away to a safe spot and watch to see if anything shows up. my history with lethal zone, the only difficulty I only play, I've gotten slaughtered, just recently started playing again and I'm doing pretty well, main focus for starting out is finding a crossbow, toolkits, rucksacks for morale purposes, shotgun, and lots of shells for the shotgun, gas, painkillers, and stamina items. I don't remove plague hearts right off the bat until I'm sure that I'm well prepared for the increase of difficulty. with hordes being a big deal now in recent updates, I gotta stay on top of it with a crossbow for a stealth mission. my biggest problem in sod2 are plague ferals, they end up sneaking on me when I'm fighting zombies and I hate being grappled onto the ground by them xD

i'm not sure but i think you missed a good tip which is to use the radio lvl 2 influence boost. really to get influence. that's also which i'm always killing ferals especially when i'm in a banana car.

Not sure if I saw you do it at all but when crouched you can sneak faster without aiming your gun like a sneak sprint that doesn't make noise and you dont need to be leveled up i know on ps4 remote its circle just keep pressing it while crouch sneaking

With your number 12, if you have 7 stars in stealth, fast search is automatically silent. Same thing if you outpost a place THEN search.

quick answer it does not! Fantastic question, I really forgot to cover it. I think not a single zombie in the game reacts to flashlight, which is an interesting mechanic. You can safely have it on at all times.

Thanks! Take it easy, start with dreadzone and later go to the final difficulty. Ammunition ,medicine, survivors, grenades and gas all will help you, but be a little careful. What you described does take too much space. Unless you're using a nice 50-round SMG, then maybe you can justify it. But every slot matters, and the more organized you can be, the more loot you can carry out.

In response to friendly zombies I actually once saw a "friendly" feral in state of decay 1 a few years back. Admittedly it was some type of bug where it and the other zombies couldn't see or interact with me, but none the less it did not attack me despite standing not 5 feet from it while in a wide open area. Was the only time I didn't feel like shitting my pants because I saw a feral.

Leave Ferals Alone. First week with the game. At first I tried playing on nightmare and was quickly humbled, so I downgraded to the standard difficulty, which is manageable but still stressful. My strategy consists of having a watchtower + facilities for everything + generate enough resources to stamp the resource bleeding down to at least zero a day across the board. Then I elect a trader as leader for the 500 renown per day + the ability to call on other traders if need be. Once you clear the hearts then you can rest a little easy during your runs.
