Does this ultralight have ailerons or spoilers?

It's an old MX with just elevator and rudder. The newer ones have ailerons. The difference between the new MX and MX Sport is the Sport has double surface wings. The MX has single surface wings.

It did have spoilers but they were pretty much useless. As I recall the stick was attached to the rudder and elevator. The spoilers were controlled by the pedals.

Chuck smith howdy chuck! I'm the one that did most of the work on this little beauty. The guy that owned this plane was one of the nicest people you could ever know. He had sustained serious injuries in a horrible accident that he was very lucky to even live, let alone ever be able to fly! He found this plane in Indiana and had me go there to check it out, test fly it and transport it, if he bought it. He did end up buying it and we brought it back to his home field in south central Pa. I built snow skis for it and introduced him to a friend that had those rare Puddlejumper floats for sale at an extremely reasonable price! He bought them and, after some little difficulties, had them on his plane. These videos of him testing out the floats are at a friend's pond on his farm down the road from me. Ryan, who was the owner of this beautiful little flyer was a very skilled pilot and was mostly self taught! I helped him in as many ways as I could. He went flying one day and flew to the head of the Chesapeake bay where he landed behind a rather large scenic cruiser boat with a lot of people on board. Ryan was unfamiliar with the physics of water density when turbulated and got behind that large watercraft and into it's wake. The water caused the plane to lose buoyancy on one float, which made a wing dip into the water. That caused the plane to then flip upside down. Ryan was able to safely extract himself and quickly got help to move the plane out of the heavily traveled channel. In the process of towing the inverted plane in the water with a very powerful boat, the plane was dragged along the bottom, thus completely destroying plane and floats! This sad ending also ended Ryan's flying and aviation lost a lot of potential when he quit! A very sad end to two amazing flyers! I hope I was informative enough. Thank you for your interest in this plane I own the sister to this one and I have floats for mine also! Mine are"straight" floats that I've designed and built retractable landing gear for. It works quite well and is still functional to this day! I also still have the snow skis I built for this plane as well. I miss Ryan and I miss flying with him! Life can give you many ups and downs. My hope is that Ryan is living an "UP" life and is happy! I hope you find the plane of your dreams Chuck! Best wishes on that to happen. I am boB (spelled backwards).
