I'm really happy with how it came out. Worth it sacrificing the door.

This is great! Everything is vintage correct 👍

Thanks. I tried within reason to do it correct. If I had more time and money I'd be 100%, but it's good enough for who it's for. 😎

What a VINTAGE dragster it is! The history matches the patina and most interesting as you build the mighty beast. Old door is perfect!! Good Luck in Buffalo!!

I mentioned once that I used your doodlebug videos as reference to build a scale model doodlebug, I'm getting tempted to dig through my parts box to do the same on this one...
@QuickSpeedShop Жыл бұрын
That'd be awesome. Search "Early Dragsters HAMB" and you'll find 90 pages worth of inspiration.

@@QuickSpeedShop I've had a picture saved for years of a dragster being hauled in a custom ramp in the bed of a truck that I plan to recreate. Except with a different style dragster, and different truck...

I'm going to build a Studebaker M series ramp truck later this year that will be used to carry a lot of neat stuff eventually.

When I was 11 I would dream of building a dragster like that. I had pages from magazines with the Mooneyes dragster all over my walls. I've never let go of that dream and still tell myself "someday". Cool car!

Sweet 👍. If you're able to get the lid off under the lid, you could drill a hole just big enough for the end of a funnel to and oil to the master cylinder.
@QuickSpeedShop Жыл бұрын
The top is bound right up against the lid. The master has plenty of reservoir so I'll prolly never have to fill it again

Oh so COOOL, I know time is limited but man since you call it a deathtrap, Some detail to make the body look like a casket or coffin and leave the door handle on the skin. LOL. Looking AWESOME. This is one really cool build. Thanks for Sharing

Munsters already did that with Dragula!

@Quick Speed Shop that where the thought came from. Most young people these have no clue though. 🤣

I have a pierce governor on my model a powered air compressor. It was a Gordon smith kit. However Gordon smith also made them in a factory that was completely assembled. Mine is ran off of the timing gear however some were belt drive like yours.
