Actually there is already a conic gun in WOT. It is the 7,5/5,5 cm Waffe 0725 from instance the VK30.01 (H). In fact the projectile is 5,5 cm, but it has skirts measuring 7,5 cm.

The thing is that is a squeeze bore, the round is a larger caliber that is made to squish down to the smaller caliber of the bore for a higher velocity. So while it begins as a 7.5cm (sort of) it becomes a 5.5cm round after exiting the barrel. This doesn't look like a squeeze bore, but more like the round is 85mm but with fins that stick out reaching the larger caliber, or alternatively has a sort of sabot mechanic. They seem to use different philosophies.

@@madgaming3172 500m is actually not the minimum, it's just a benchmark. I think WG finds it unlikely that you will shoot beyond 500m. The actual lowest damage would occur at 719m, which is the distance that shells despawn at. What that damage is, I'd have to do some basic math to find out lol.

Need to add, the alpha can even get lower beyond 500m, did not yet know that. So theoretically at 720m max shell distance your alpha will be 56 dmg. Add the 25% RNG on top the theoretical min dmg would be about 42.

QB. It's a Squeeze Bore gun, the barrel is 85mm, the round is 175mm. The reason it sounds like an 85mm is cause that is the gun barrel's end caliber, and at the breach it's 175mm. Essentially this Blyskawica is WG's first foray into Squeeze Bore mechanics. Does the damage of a 175mm shell, but the sound, and caliber of an 85mm Also, fun fact, Star Tray shells are actually Tank Flares. WG is getting things wrong here. These shells will actually be more akin to Kinetic Penetrators, hence the damage increase at close range and the extreme shell velocities

Personally i think its supposed to be some sort of discarding sabot shell, and it has some janky mechanic were the the shell does more damage with the sabot petals still on, which would explain the less damage over range and the super high velocity, also there is already a squeeze bore in game the 7.5/5.5cm on the Vk 30.01H

Historically sure for the VK 30 H, but for the game mechanics the Polish tier 8, 9 and 10 will technically be the first squeeze bore style kinetic energy penetrator style guns in World Of Tanks. Even the ammunition type's picture is a pretty accurate depiction of a Kinetic Energy Penetrator It mayhaps be a APFSDS round, too, due to the way the barrel on the NC 70 looks, there's very clearly fin-shaped areas on the end of the barrel but the gun mechanic is very clearly a squeeze bore "gimmick" because the updated texts read that the gun is 85mm and the shell size is 175mm, so there's really no other explanation other than "It's a squeezebore" xD @@Klimotine

FYI, there is already a real-world example of this sort of mechanic with larger caliber navel guns. The new linear accelerator navel gun starts out squarish. Then can deliver a dart out to extended ranges that actually loses pen and damage potential the longer the range. Then again, the range we are talking about is over 30 miles or a beyond visual horizon shot. Since we now have steerable shells available now, then that sort of accuracy at extended distances could be a real thing.

A really weird tank. They give it laser shell velocity (great for sniping), yet the alpha and dpm that are both great up close fall enormously over distance while the final dispersion value is "meh" and the caliber of the gun is just awful for a tier 10 (all of which forces you to brawl). However, armor is only really good to deflect shots from afar, where they can't hit your weakspots reliably (pretty safe, but totally ineffective sniping), yet starts to be easily exploitable in close battle, where you would be most useful offensively speaking. Camo and view range suck, while mobility is fine, all of which again points at adopting a more aggressive/brawling role, yet the gun depression is "just ok" and it won't let you truly go "hull down", while the horizontal gun arc is simply horrible, so performing at close distance is not going to be easy at all, especially when facing more than 1 target. All in all, seems like a badly concocted chimera I would not be interested in.

This tank is not the highest DPM tank in the game, it's the ShPTK-TVP with HE. Badger with HE also has a much higher DPM than the NC 70. What? This DPM is only if you penetrate all your HE shots? Yeah, sure. But the NC70's DPM is only if you shoot at 50m or less, so if you are okay to compute DPM at its most optimal than we should consider HE too. Also, starting from 74m (773 average alpha dmg) and onwards, Badger has a higher DPM than the NC 70 with regular rounds. If you wonder how to compute the expected damage: Damage = 800 - ( Distance - 50 ) * (500 - 450) Which is equivalent to 800 - ( D - 50 ) *1.1 = 800 - ( 1.1D - 55 ) = 855 - 1.1D I think it is dumb to display the expected damage. Range is already displayed next to the reticle, player's are smart enough to get an idea of the alpha damage. They don't display penetration dropoff, why should they display alpha damage here?

I Like the Mechanic that the damage of a Shell decreases the longer it flies + the super fast APCR Shells. But i find it has a too Crazy strong Dpm in close Range and a too low dpm at Long Range. My personal change would be it has still 800 damage at 50 m, 400 at 500m But i would give it a Dpm of maybe 3.000base (you shoot in close Range) and giving a gun traverse of maybe -8/ 8. Why? i think with such current stats i guess we will have Even more faster Games where everyone is brawling trough. Cant wait to See here a aggressive 3er Platoon of Blyskawica crushing everyone down.😅😊 A other but pretty similar mechanic would be: the Penetration of the object increases with the distance it flyies. * i know this mechanic from a different vehicle in a Game called armored warfare. It is the MGM 166 Losat. The Problem is just it shoots missiles and no typical antitankshellsl then we have it only in the Game. I doubt That this principle works with normal Shells. But i m still looking forward that they release rocketshooting Vehicels and rocketshells for tanks

I don’t think 112 difference is really not that significant considering you have to be so close in order to achieve that. Most maps getting that close is very difficult to do in anything other than scouts or sneaky mediums, at least until later in the game. So in reality I think it will be fairly rare it is ever able to achieve that dpm. Although this tank looks good on paper I feel it’s probably not gonna perform very well and in the hands of most players it will be a disadvantage to even have one of these on you team as most people are probably just gonna camp the back of the map with it. And when you get it in close it’s going to be very difficult to do well with, with such a limited gun arc. I’ve said before I wish they would stop spending so much time trying to come up with new tanks and take the time to rebalance the tanks that exist to make them more playable as lately all you see is the overpowered premiums and reward tanks that I feel are just ruining the game. For instance at T8 if you don’t have the BZ on your team you have probably lost because of one tank. The game over the last couple years has just become so irritating as a result of the premiums I’m about done playing all together.

imo the weak flaps are just fine, otherwise this tank would be mental on a ridge and noone really wants another ridgeline warrior. It's all about agrressively getting into the face of your opponent and once you there your flaps probably are save and then you gun has something to say I guess. But at the same time it's really awkward having a tank that is specialized in such a way because you have to force it into situations and that takes away from healthy decision making or reacting to the development of the game.
