Quidam by Cirque du Soleil 🎪 and it legendary banquine act 🤸🏻‍♀️
The recording of our performance filmed in 2014 in a legendary Royal Albert Hall, London UK 🇬🇧
Because of its unique theater the video is also unusual filmed from above.
But still listening and watching it again I've goose skin. As it was my first ever show and so powerful act.
The banquine act showcases the amazing agility of the human body. In this act, 15 performers (all Slavic) perform spectacular sequences of acrobatics and human pyramids, astounding audiences with their perfectly synchronized movements.
The final act of Quidam is the Banquine, an incredible balancing and acrobatic act involving the whole troupe. Banquine is an Italian acrobatic tradition that goes as far back as the Middle Ages. The literal definition of the word is "to bend". The acrobatic disciplined is traditionally executed at ground level by two carriers who, using their arms, catapult a flyer to stand on the interlaced hands of the carriers, a position called banquette. The impetus allows the flyer to perform acrobatic leaps and return to the starting point, the ground, or the banquette of a second team of carriers. For Quidam, the troupe toss each othr madly about the stage forming towers of four people high, and in daring jumps from one group to the other, landing only on the joined hands of the porter.
By the way, did you know that act won Gold Clown 🏆🤡 of Monte Carlo circus festival in 1999?
And it's the only one in the history of Cirque du Soleil act that got 🥇GOLD!😱
And was seen on the big screen in Cirque du Soleil's IMAX film: Journey of Man. It is, perhaps, the signature act of Quidam and features performances completely unlike anything else.

I love Quidam and few days ago we were talking with my wife and one of the technician we worked together. That we still have a goosebumps from the opening and the music in general (I’m not talking about the exceptional banquine act)🥹 I wish it will be re-opening but… the chance is very small 🎪

I really love this act from the show and I remembered how you explained things to me about how this act is about the lost souls trying to get everything back. Though now I wonder why do three of the performers appear in white while the rest appear gray?

They were white actually the entire show. And their character are - albinos (so obviously white 😅) And they are - 4 😊

Yeah I just noticed that there were 4 of them. In past videos I’ve seen of this, there was usually one guy and two girls.
