I'm obsessed with it - Corgans solo's are so unique. Got my loop pedal out and gonna try and loop Iha's part and play it.

Fantastic! That Billy Corgan is a genius. Thanks for the tabs and both parts. I'm still a newbie but that's the first time the time signatures from 3/4 to 4/4 really stood out to me. Great cover. :)

I love the little catch you do when you play the "Be Ashamed..." part where you hit 9the fret power chord and then the Open E and then you catch the 9th fret PC and slide it to the 7th, its my favorite thing to play
@SparkyGuitar4 жыл бұрын
There is something about throwing the open E into rock songs that is so powerful. Hendrix does it at the end of the intro to Voodoo Chile... and every guitarist knows that feeling ... it gets you in the gut!
@yelkhan20023 жыл бұрын
Hey, brief correction! James Iha plays 799 on the A instead of 022 on the E in the chorus. Billy still plays 022 on the E, though. You can see it in live videos and you can also hear it in the original.

Tell me how to set up the combo amplifier please
@SparkyGuitar Жыл бұрын
Ideally you want some fuzz (like a Big Muff) but without that then go for as much gain/filth as your amp can give you… and then dial down the mids. That should sound good…

Does anyone have any tips for the solo
@SparkyGuitar Жыл бұрын
Hi there... the most important tip is ALWAYS to learn to play it very slowly until you have it nailed. DON'T speed up till you are ready - or you just end up (like I often did!) with fast sloppy playing. It's the lesson I wish I'd learned years ago. Next suggestion would be to use a metronome while you do that... get an app on your phone. The upgrade from that would be to buy Transcribe - great software for slowing songs down and looping them to learn them. The best way (and I'm being genuine here) is to become a Patreon supporter, get the downloadable tab and buy GuitarPro. It's great software and has made me a much better player. Hope that helps!
@EverythingIsBurnt Жыл бұрын
@SparkyGuitar thank you but I have already tried all that but it's at the first part of the solo on the end where it goes where from 16 to 6 that sound you get how do you do that

@@ryanmedeiros9450 thanks. I've seen some tutorials and I wonder if it's possible to achieve such dirty result in today's digital era
@ryanmedeiros94508 ай бұрын
@@jarkell correction: actually it wasnt just a big muff, apparently you gotta run it on an MXR Distortion II before going into the Muff. You can search up on youtube "siamese dream pedals" and you'll eventually find Billy himself talking about the SM gear he used
@JohnAvillaHerpetocultural2 ай бұрын
Good stuff but you are playing the main riff slightly incorrectly (came for the lead work). The hammer-on at the beginning should be on the first fret of low E and then slid up to the second fret to play a triplet before the first 5th and an octave.
