Alpo brushed his father's murder off the way he mentioned. Basically because he saw his father, much like Rich, AZ, Tank, Mike Fray, and so many others as competition. Never as friendly adversaries. He wanted the limelight to himself and would do any and all to protect it. So when he got around people from the city and saw how meaningless murder was in d.c. He felt to capitalize off it by using those people to his expense. And eliminating everyone he felt intimidated his persona like he believed his father did. If he got around people whom Wayne Perry was afraid of (and their were plenty) he would've had Wayne killed as well. But later option to just cooperate against him with the feds instead.
