Bridge building, "someone gave it one tap of the hammer and ran away" - made me lol so much :-)

I feel so bad for Odeille. First her parent died when she was five so she had to live by herself until she was 10 years old. The young child had then to work as a fisherman where she got married to 17(!) year old Milbur. Probably by practical reasons, but however the marriage only lasted for 2 years before her husband brutaly died of starvation while their neighbours had their houses stocked with food and firewood. Lol!
@3lloGuvner11 жыл бұрын
It's not the bridge they're trying to build, it's the trade post. You needed to pause the trade post till the bridge was finished.

Quill the reason your builders wouldn't build in Ep 1 was because your stockpile was full and logs and stone were on the area where you wanted to build hope this helps :)

It may have already been pointed out, but the people couldn't build the houses in part 1 because all the houses still had to have objects removed from the lot but they couldn't remove those things since the stock yard was full. They don't deliver build materials until the lots are cleared. You placed down another house in a spot that happened to not need cleared, so they delivered the materials immediately, which freed up space to clear the other lots.

This is where boarding houses are worth their weight in gold as they hold loads of people but the food and wood storage isn't as split up. Therefore you wont get a single house in a row freezing to death as they starve while their neighbor chows down on pigeon pies in front of a raging fire.
@xavmanisdabestest10 жыл бұрын
Liarra Sniffles He should of built a market they distribute food alot more evenly
@LiarraSniffles_X310 жыл бұрын
Elite Salad Even so, at this point in development the game still had the "bug" where people would take enough to fill their house, often forcing their neighbours to starve completely. I found that the only way to fix this, was to ALWAYS BUILD ENOUGH FIREWOOD AND CLOTHES FOR TWICE THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE. The supply/demand graph is lying!

Quill one thing to think about is that if the people take a house based on their job, if you have things spread out (like the trader now) constantly switching jobs may have them traveling far distances.

Thousands of potatoes per year is not very unreasonable. A labourer needs about 3500 calories a day, or about 20 potatoes, or about 7300 potatoes each year.
@Wiliraughshai11 жыл бұрын
To elaborate, if you are on heavy labour chances are you eat 4-8 potatoes a day assuming you also have something else to share the plate with. Multiply that with 365. That's quite the few potatoes to chew on.
@Briarstoned11 жыл бұрын

with 770 cal for 1 kg potatoes ... that makes it about 4,5 Kg / day ... 20 potatoes ? really ?

It would depend on the size of the potato. But yes, 20-25 potatoes a day would make 4.5kg. Here's an image of a 5kg bag of potatoes for estimation: www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=258423640

I'm pretty sure that hunting lodges work best in areas that are free from disturbance, i.e. old growth forest. Also I'm not sure the deer you see running around are actually the deer that are hunted, so no need to worry about having them in the hunters lodge zone.

The reason your homes weren't building in the first vid was because you didn't have a large enough storage area for lumber, ore, & stone. The logs in the area couldn't get cleared away so that the foundations could be built. Once people started taking more resources from your storage area to build the 2 extra homes you set to be built next to it (the storage area), then other laborers gathered the wood from the zones set for the initial 4 houses you set up.
@skyworm800611 жыл бұрын
I realise this is not meant to be a violent game but perhaps in the future things will be added like hostile and aggressive animals, may be even bandits. So that would add another factor of having a militia or other defenses. While not going full Age of Empires sort of defense of course. :P
