I’m the proud owner of the slide lock set, the square trim lock set, the paper piecing 6” & 12” rulers and all of the sizes of the quilt lock rulers for straight line quilting! I also have two trays in different sizes one for at my machine and one for my ironing station, the iron shaped clapper and the stiletto/seam ripper combo! I’m planning to add even more to my collection as time goes by! I have invested hundreds of dollars in other rulers and ‘grippy’ tools but because of hand and medical issues, I don’t have the strength necessary for typical rulers. The 1/4” thickness of the rulers help to insure a clean cut without cutting myself or exerting excessive stress on myself all the while holding things firmly in place! The wood crafted items are not only useful but they are beautifully crafted with obvious care and attention to detail! (As a daughter of a retired woodworker, I notice these things!) I have all of the items crafted in the Purple Heart wood and couldn’t be more pleased! I’m always checking out the new products you and Matt are designing! Your products have helped me to continue to create and have made my quilting journey more enjoyable and accurate! Thank you so very much! ❤😊

Wow! I am blown away by all the items you make. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into how to make each piece super functional. I really appreciate people like you with the ability to take an idea and put it into producing useful items. I wish I had better access to you but living in Canada makes it next to impossible. Keep up the good work
@sewbeitquilts11 ай бұрын
Thanks, Brenda! If we can ever figure out how to please the CBSA regarding tariffs and such, we'll definitely start selling in Canada, again. We really just need to find a quilt shop who wants to carry our items there so we can wholesale to them and let them resale in Canada.

those are some nice tools. I too make my out of plain 1/4" plexiglass I found on the side of the road. my favorite is 2 1/2" wide x 25" long strip guide. I start on the left side of the fabric and can blow through some yardage to make strips.

Love mine. Would you ever consider adding ruler markings to the SlideLock? That would be very helpful.
@sewbeitquilts11 ай бұрын
We have thought about it and the handle seems like it would get in the way of many ruler markings that would be needed when cutting.

I have both slide lock rulers, saw first at Pacific International Quilt festival, great rulers for cutting. Innovative idea--good work. Also love the trim lock square, 2.5", 3/5", and 4.5" give to me by my dear sweet quilt friend who recently lost her fight with cancer which makes them even more special! These square rulers are amazing, I love using! Have not seen your seam rippers yet, I have way too many seam rippers, my preference are the larger ones.

We are so glad to hear you love the two trim-locks you have. I find myself using the 2.5” a lot! The handle comes in so helpful for me. It keeps my hands away from the blade when cutting such a small Block.

I do have 3 of the trim locs. I love thqt they hold the fabric so I can twist them any which way and the fabric stays right in place for trimming! I was having a little fun trying them out when I first got them - they all work beautifully!!! thank you for a great tool for big projects especially. Cutting does go faster using them.
@sewbeitquilts11 ай бұрын
We love hearing that! I have noticed that I can cut faster with them too. But what really makes me happy is that my hands don’t hurt nearly as much when I have a lot of half square triangles to trim!

So glad you showed your notions!! They look fantastic! I will definitely be purchasing some once I start quilting again. I do have one suggestion for your listing of these notions. I was looking at them on my phone and the pictures and text are extremely hard to see on a phone screen. I suggest you make your text easier to read for people who use a phone for shopping. A larger, darker font would be extremely helpful. Thanks!!!

Thank you for pointing that out. We actually just started working with someone to help us with our website. We will see if he has any suggestions for fonts.

Are you out of the square rulers?
@christinequirion811211 ай бұрын
May I ask why you don’t have ruler markings on the slidlock? Is that an option ?
@sewbeitquilts11 ай бұрын
We don’t put lines on it because the handle and the holes for the bumpers would prevent many of the ruler lines from being used. So instead I show how to use it along with a ruler that measures the fabric and the Slidelock provides a nice edge for cutting fabric without movement.

The seam/stills to needs a flat side to prevent rolling off your table or surface
@sewbeitquilts11 ай бұрын
I let my husband know, but he said since they are made on a lathe, there is no way to leave a side flat (since the lathe spins the wood around while he uses a chisel to shape the wood).

Thank you for info. My daughter handles my finances and she is out of town now for a friend’s babies birth. I will ask her to place order when she gets back. Besides the trim lock sets I will also want magnetic trays!! So excited!! This will make quilting so much easier and nicer with arthritis.

Since they are all handmade by my husband, there is no set diameter. I asked him, though, and he said the thickest are the Bocote and Cherry.

If it doesn't add too much to production cost could you etch your company name onto your products? I bought a set of Trim-Locks and anyone who sees them in use at a retreat or class always asks where I got them and I have to look up my KZbin subscriptions to remember your company name. I always remember that it has 'Sew' in it, but that doesn't really narrow it down much for quilting related companies.
@slim21511 ай бұрын
I love your rulers, but they have no numbers on them, which makes it where I have to have two different products. If you had numbers on your rulers, I would purchase everything you had………
@sewbeitquilts11 ай бұрын
Numbers would do no good on the Slidelock because it is not intended to be used as a measuring ruler.
