What was your favorite of your own quilts you finished this year?
@Sam_the_quilterАй бұрын
Oh wow!!! you know the "ugliest quilt I have ever seen", I think that's actually one of your best. I love that one, and the one you did with the wonderful Tom! :D. Question for you, when you do matchstick quilting, how long is your stitch length? I get worried because I think it's going to make my quilts like cardboard. lol. I currently have mine long arm set at 10 SPI.

I think you did an amazing job on your quilts. If someone says negative things about your quilts then they need to just keep scrolling. There is enough ugliness in the world that an artist with passion is a gift meant to be shared. If they can’t say anything nice then shut it, as my mother would have said! 😂😂 ❤❤

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one person loves, another person does not. Especially when the artwork is abstract &/or non traditional. As an artist, I can appreciate all forms of art but don't have to personally like it to express that appreciation. Keep doing what your doing!!!

My favorite quilt was my Purple Ombre strip quilt. It was made with 2.5" strips cut with the AccuQuilt 2.5" strip cutter. It ended up being CA King size with the addition of yardage. My daughter did a swirly pantograph pattern with the long-arm. The only issue is that with all the thread it is VERY HEAVY! I can't lift it by myself but I love the look

That sounds awesome! And I love a heavy quilt myself!

Someone who would comment that the quilt was the ugliest thing they had ever seen is someone who wasn’t raised right and is angry at the world. I like it a lot.

All the quilts look very nice ... though there are a few I personally wouldn't be drawn to, there are definitely different tastes for different people to choose from. A lot of time & effort was seeingly enlisted to accomplish so much in one year. GREAT WORK & ACCOMPLISHMENT! I've never made a quilt before & maybe this year will be my year to try doing so. Happy New Year for 2025! May all your dreams come true. 👏

I had to stop midway through the video to comment… I absolutely love the “spots” quilt and would love to see a video on how you made it. I cannot believe it did not win a prize, I should have been judging that show, you would have one for sure! It ticked all my boxes, it’s original it’s sustainable and it’s colorful! I still have my framed scraps, but I have not been able to complete the quilt top. It’s on the top of my WIP‘s, so maybe one day. The scraps I used are very precious and I intend on making two throw quilts for my two great nieces so that they will have something from their great grandmother that they never knew (my mom). And lastly, whoever told you that your quilt was ugly as an idiot. Quilting is an art, and there is no ugly art. Your uncle‘s quilt came out fantastic. I hope he treasures it!

Wow Kristen you are a prolific quilter! I loved joining you in late spring 2024 for the big block quilt along. Thank you for showing my quilt photo. It's okay to have my real name, lots of people know it. Now maybe you can guess why one of our dogs is named Ferris..... I gifted the quilt to some friends and they loved it. It was so easy to make. Great pattern and instructions.

My favorite quilt finish this year was a lap quilt for my great niece, who had cancer. She chose the colors and her mom sent me a picture of her wrapped up in it. Unfortunately, she passed away on November.

I’m so sorry for your loss. That is awful. I’m sure she felt your love through your quilt. Big hugs to you and so sorry your family has suffered such a loss. There are never any words…
