All great tips. I have a 4 day retreat later this week. I always bring a pillow for my chair. I am vertically challenged- 5'2" - and most retreat tables are slightly too high. Some people bring their sewing chairs. And portable bright lighting is also a good idea. Most sewing areas are in large halls and as I get older, the lighting needs to be better. I do try to plan a 10 minute walk every 2 hours-inside or outside. I am not used to sitting and sewing uninterrupted. We have a sign up at check in for 15 minute massages on the third day that relieves stress on the neck and shoulders. All good suggestions. Precutting projects and not over packing or over dressing are my favorites.

Our small Quilt Group in the past...had our retreats every year- at one member's mom/dad's cabin on a Lake...nearby, a 45 minute drive from where we all live...if someone forgot something, they could actually drive home and get it, and get back to the fun! We were about 8 ladies...did NOT cook..went to a casual golf club's restaurant for brunch/dinner every day (a quick 2 minute walk!) ...just had to bring snacks/chips for the daytime!
