margot thomas A paper pattern can be printed using a PDF file (several available online). For a more durable pattern you can cut it out of fabric or pellon or cardboard or stiff plastic. Another advantage is that you can resize the PDF image at printing to adjust the clamshell size to fit your taste or project. 😃👍🏻

a lot of leftover fabric, I don't call it waste because you can use it, but it's such a big scrap. thinking something could be made of it.

Great tutorial! I was interested in seeing how the clamshell is pieced together because I saw the cutest quilt on Pinterest that is a clamshell that makes some of the clamshells into panda bears. It would be a really nice kids quilt.
